So hold up, what do you think will happen if rudragon finds out anything posted under zu is marked as theirs? Wasn't that the whole point of having an alternative alias so that that's not linked to their main, or do they not care about that anymore?

As I said and you quoted, Rudragon's FA page explicitly lists Zudragon for their adult art. If an artist doesn't mention what their NSFW art name is, and their NSFW account doesn't mention their SFW art name, it would be appropriate to keep the names separate (and not list them as alts on their artist page, or tag them both for an image). But since they do mention it, there's no reason to have two tags here since people could find out from the artist's own pages anyway.

I still believe that explicit permission should be required here.

The only thing I can find from a forum search is an unalias for Zapa and Ru, as they were aliased because someone mistook the near-identical style to mean they were the same person (when really, Zapa just learned heavily from Ru). But Zapa is not Zu, and Ru explicitly links to Zu for their nsfw art.
