Topic: Picture being flagged as "avoid_posting"

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

There are no tags that are avoid_posting

I was trying to correct this picture's character, it's supposed to be fuyuki_yamamoto_(odd_taxi), but I mistakenly copied it without the _, so it added a bunch of garbage which I tried to revert. I think it ended up adding a old tag that was excluded or some artist that's avoid posting, I dunno(I think yamamoto). I undid it but the avoid_posting still exists. Tried removing it but it doesn't gets removed. Either bug or by design, perhaps if a tag that was avoid_posting was added in the past then it might be still forcing it?

In the tag history you can see it added the avoid_posting tag as a locked tag, so only staff can remove it.

I guess they added that so people couldn't upload a DNP artist's work without realising, get the tag added, then swap it to unknown_artist to avoid getting a record or having it deleted.

Yamamoto is a DNP artist, and got tagged on accident when it was meant to be tagged fuyuki_yamamoto_(odd_taxi), which also caused it to be tagged avoid_posting. The avoid_posting tag gets locked automatically when it's added to prevent users from trying to hide art being DNP, so only admins can remove the tag once added. You can report the post and explain that the tag was added by mistake, and they'll remove it when they can.

Thanks all. I was kind of worried to flag it because the only option is "tagging abuse", but I did it by mistake. So I was worried I'd either get in trouble for trying to fix other's mistakes, or it'd get the post deleted(as in, I thought flagging would only get the post deleted).

Flagging is for indicating a post should be deleted for one of the selectable reasons. Reporting is used to indicate an issue with the post an admin needs to take care of, it isn't really for getting it deleted. They're two separate things.

Yes, don't actually flag it.
Flags are handled by janitors, who can't really do anything about locked tags.
Reports are handled by admins, who will be able to remove avoid_posting from the post.
