Rocket predates the movie by a few decades, he's been appearing in various comics since 1976.

And although he's mostly known from it, I'm not sure if we should implicate it.. What if someone posts pics of the older Rocket? (Maybe there's already some, I think I see some Marvel vs. Capcom versions of him under the tag.)

Rocket Raccoon is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the group already appeared in comics before the movie was made.

Most of the posts here showcases him in the current, more popular style, the older him like post #195415 should be tagged with marvel_vs._capcom for his older reference.

But it seems to me that the guardians_of_the_galaxy tag is used for the movie, not the group itself? In any case, I think we need a tag that's solely used for the movie; it's furry enough to warrant having...

Idk if we should make another one just for the movie, seems irrelevant. :(

Whatever the solution is, I think searching for guardians_of_the_galaxy should at least return everything from the film, as that's what 99% of users searching for that tag will be expecting given its recent release date.

Yeah, I agree with Tony
And I really doubt that anyone looking for guardians stuff will expect to find much of the comic version here, since it was next to unheard of before the film. I don't think a separate tag would be necessary. Do we have different tags for batman_(comic) and barman_(movie)? Naw, not needed.

This one was tricky. But after weighing everything, I went ahead and implicated these because:

- I don't think it will ever be that many images that are clearly only the old team(s) or the old rocket.
- I think most people will be searching using guardians_of_the_galaxy and rocket_raccoon only. And be blissfully unaware of the few times we'll need to add the marvel_vs._capcom tag as well in order to properly credit the older references. But I don't think they're going to be looking for them through those other tags, so being faithful to that seems less useful.
- If we have a single tag for all of batman (all of the movies, all of the tv shows/cartoons and all of the comics...and all of the differences between those). Then I think we can have both the group guardians_of_the_galaxy and the movie guardians_of_the_galaxy sharing a tag, especially since 99% of images will be from the movie or indistinguishable. And most searchers will better find what they need using that single tag than they will with two tags.

Now, if the comics or original team(s) experience a resurgence of art/popularity for any reason, then a new tag to distinguish the older set and make it separate from the movie can and probably should be created. And we can certainly re-discuss it then. But in the meantime, I think that from a functional standpoint, this implication will work. And that a more technical solution would actually get in the way of your average searcher finding what they need (using what is going to continue to be two very commonly searched tags).

Yes, I think that this is the best option :)
