Topic: Should I bother posting art?

Posted under Art Talk

I just had three posts get auto-deleted after 30 days without being approved, and only one of them got a review saying it didn't meet the quality standards.

The rest didn't even get that.

Keep practicing, be sure to also upload to your own galleries, and don't take it personally should any of your pictures don't get approved. I know it can feel like a jab in the gut for your art to not get approved, but it's not intended as such. Instead, think of it as a benchmark to aim for in your continued efforts to improve your art skills.

I’ve never uploaded art, but from what I hear, e6 has kinda high quality standards, which can be discouraging for new artists. I’ve even seen advice not to upload your own art for this reason.

That being said, keep trying. You get good by not giving up. I’d recommend uploading all your art to FA or wherever in the meantime.

The thing is, I didn't even get feedback on most of it, and one animation I submitted actually ended up getting more favorites than the image it was based on. I feel like either the benchmark is set way too high for me to ever reach, or the staff just don't care enough to keep up with the submission queue

The thing is that e621 gets a lot of submissions versus a handful of volunteer approvers. Some pictures go through, a fair number don't. Of those that don't, the approvers don't have time to go through and give feedback. However, if you dmail them and ask nicely what wasn't up to snuff, they will likely give you that feedback. As for those favorites, they don't guarantee a picture will be kept; they're just a gauge of how many viewers the picture tickled the fancy of.

Seeing as I'm 0-3, and I don't envision myself getting much better, I doubt I'll ever be good enough

Oh it's 3D.
Standards are pretty high for 3D stuff and you won't get approved without quite high quality assets AND posing/animation AND rendering

Getting approved here is not a prerequisite to improvement. If you truly believe you are not capable of improving to meet the submission standards, then give up on uploading here. Otherwise get to work improving.

The quality is fineish, some are better than others, you are close. Should have uploaded some your other better works.
