This is gonna sound super pedantic, but shouldn't it be unknown date to follow the same format as unknown artist?

Second... I am not entirely certain what the purpose of this tag is.
Wouldn't the lack of a year tag serve the same purpose?

Having a tag for an unknown date would show that the date can't be found reasonably easy where the lack of a date tag could just be from it being untagged. Like the thousands of images that have the date on the image but still lack a date tag.

And I agree with abstractedtown we keep the tag it should however follow the same format as unknown_artist, unknown_character, etc.
