I have never heard of dribbling being used in place of drooling. Despite this, there does seem to be enough under it that has no basket ball, so perhaps it should be disambiguated, with dribbling_(sports) for the basketball form.

I agree with this.

Dribbling and Drooling aren’t synonyms even when not referring to dribbling a ball. Drooling refers specifically to spit coming from a mouth. Dribbling can refer to liquid dripping from anywhere

Probably dribbling_(basketball) since, as far as I’m aware, it isn’t relevant to any other sports.

What word would you use to disambiguate the liquid form?

Sports

ensures it's valid if it does happen in other sports, and is also far shorter than basketball.

Fluid

?

Oh right, missed this.

At least soccer, water polo, both flavours of hockey, and hurling

Those are different actions in those sports though, aren’t they? I don’t imagine you’re bouncing a hockey puck up and down? So perhaps in that case, we’d use a different tag for each.

Sorry, I interpreted your post as a statement that only basketball uses the term, not that only basketball uses that form of dribbling.
(Also in hurling you are bouncing a ball up and down, but upward rather than downward)

Yeah, I was referring to the specific action, though I'll admit that I wasn't aware that dribbling was a term used in other sports to refer to different actions. All the more reason to use dribbling_(basketball) though, so it doesn't get confused with those unrelated actions that share the same name.
