For some reason, I'm not able to hear any sound from WebM videos anymore. I've already checked other WebM format videos and it contained sound/audio but no sound on this site. Is there a possible fix for this?

You might have muted E621. Right click the tab and see if the "Mute site" is checked or says "Unmute" now.

When you play a video with sound here, does sound register in other areas? Like a speaker icon on the tab (for Chrome), or on the volume mixer.

Try playing it in an incognito window.

Yeah it shows up on the volume mixer. A weird thing I discovered is that other sites that contain WebM videos contain sound but when it comes to this site, there's no sound/audio.

It works on incognito mode but not on a regular window

That really does sound exactly like you have either muted e621 somehow or other, or else redirected it to a different sound output. What browser are you using?

The fact that it works in incognito is a big clue. If an extension is causing it, maybe that extension is not allowed in incognito, so the interference goes away.

I looked over my extensions, which are mainly adblock add-ons, and I don't see any problems within those extensions that are causing this issue. I do have a Volume extension as well but that's mainly for higher sound quality

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of posts which have no sound. Check type:webm sound_warning, can you hear those? (Actually some recent posts seem to not try to be super ultra loud moans and noises for a change, try post #2894396 specifically, that one has music)

Also, hover over the volume icon and make sure it's not all the way down.

It finally works! I went into the post you suggested and now I can finally hear sound, thank you so much!

Problem solved everyone, I can finally hear sound/audio again.
