Currently, Classic Sonic implies Sonic the Hedgehog and Classic Tails implies Miles Prower, which poses a problem for images that feature both classic and modern versions. bitWolfy poses that there should be a means to find all forms of the character in a single search, which wouldn't be possible with a simple *tails* or *sonic* search due to the series name and Miles Prower not included "Tails" in his proper tag. Before he suggested that, I had planned a simple BUR to remove those implications, but perhaps it might be better to create a modern sonic and modern tails tag?

Also, the current implications are inconsistent between characters. As you say, Classic Sonic and Classic Tails imply their generalised versions, but Classic Amy Rose does not imply Amy Rose, and Classic Knuckles does not imply Knuckles the Echidna.

(They all imply Classic Sonic (universe), though.)

why cant we just have:

miles_prower, classic_tails
sonic_the_hedgehog, classic_sonic

Amy's case is weird since classic_amy implies the OTHER Amy that LOOKS like classic Amy but ISN'T the actual classic Amy...wth is up with that?

is it sensible enough to retcon all the old era sonics as classic sonic or nah
you know like, regardless of the date the art was produced, something like sonic & the gang from the Sonic OVA would be classic
