...I noticed that there are tags for both muzzle_piercing (1.2k uses) and snout_piercing (62 uses).

Also, the wiki pages piercing and furry-specific piercing list only muzzle_piercing.

So that suggests that this should be a clear-cut case that snout_piercing should be aliased to muzzle_piercing. I see that an alias request was created for this 2 years ago:

EXCEPT...

The wiki pages for muzzle and muzzle (disambiguation) say: "Defunct tag. For the protruding part of the face in certain animals, use snout."

So if use of muzzle is discouraged, does that mean that these piercing tags should be the other way round: snout_piercing should be the primary tag, and muzzle_piercing an alias?
