I don’t think it’s as specific as it sounds. Typically, an elemental creature is based on an actual element rather than a type of land. Regardless, they do have a distinct enough appearance that I don’t think they could be conflated with an identically named creature from some other media. I could add an (overlord) suffix to it, though I’m not entirely convinced that it’s necessary. It would probably make sense to imply mud_creature, though.

We should create Momon_(Overlord) and have it imply Overlord, since despite him and Ainz being the same character, they are visually different and can exist simultaneously in one place, typically due to doppelgänger shenanigans. And although a summoned NPC, Death_Knight_(Overlord) should also exist and imply due to their relationship (and therefore character development) Hamsuke has with them. I'm probably missing some, Overlord's a large franchise with a lot of recognizable characters...

I'll leave this here in case we need it. https://overlordmaruyama.fandom.com/

Well, I’m a bit confused. I’ve never actually watched the show, so I don’t quite understand all of what you said. But if I understand you correctly, you’re proposing something like…
alias ainz_ooal_gown -> momon_(overlord) alias momonga -> momon_(overlord) imply momon_(overlord) -> overlord_(series) imply death_knight_(overlord) -> hamsuke

No... Ainz is big bone daddy, and Momon is big armor daddy Ainz is titular skeleton overlord, while Momon is the armored adventurer. They visually look different, but they are the same character in reality; Ainz just roleplays as Momon in order to act like a hero and to avoid intimidating people with his skeletal awesomeness. Death Knight is a summoned NPC Ainz makes early on in the first season, and they exist nowadays to see now "NPCs" from the game Yggdrasil could evolve in the New World, the world Ainz now inhabits. And Hamsuke, a character added later in the series, mentions to Ainz that training with Death Knight has made her more powerful, to such a point where she is capable of using a martial skill. And although he's not much of a conversationist, this does make him an acting character in the series and spin-offs.

In short: create the wiki page for Momon_(overlord) and Death_Knight_(overlord), have both imply Overlord as well. Though Ainz and Momon are the same character, visually they are different and we do tag different forms of characters with separate character tags. And if Death Knight was just a mindless summon and nothing more, I would instead suggest making them a species tag or not making one at all (since we see Death Knights plural being used in the series), but one Death Knight is acting like a character in overlord by befriending Hamsuke, so making a character tag and implying overlord would be a better option.

So is momon not the same as momonga? And if those two are the same, why is momonga being used for the skeleton man? And is momon supposed to look like a human, then?

Regarding Death Knight, there apparently haven’t been any images on the site featuring that character and/or species yet, which is why I didn’t include it in the BUR. I mean, I left out a ton of characters that aren’t yet featured anywhere on the site. Not only would that be a lot more work, but I’ve heard that setting up implications for empty tags can sometimes cause problems, or something.

Momonga is Ainz's avatar's name. "Ainz Ooal Gown" is actually the name of the guild he was in, and he adopted it after being transported to the new world. The alias to Ainz from Momonga is fine. Momon, however, is assumed to be human due to the fact that he wears armor covering his whole body, and that Ainz used disguising magic to take a human face when he removed his helmet. If you see Momon and Ainz in the same image, it is expected that Ainz will look like a skeleton while Momon will look like a giant armored human. Remember, we don't act on information if there's a lack of it: since Momon doesn't normally look like a skeleton, he won't normally get tagged Skeleton. The same is true for other characters with alternate forms, rabbit link won't get tagged hylian because they look like a rabbit.

And I've never heard of empty implications causing problems, though I'll take your word for it. I've always been a prepper kind of person, I like having things ready before they're needed.

Ok, fair enough. I mean, I’ve seen plenty of empty tags get successfully implicated, so I don’t suppose it’s that common. And anyhow, I can always remove them again if they do cause any problems.

So does Death Knight need to be a species or a character or both? I know there’s one in particular that is a character in the series, but if that one looks identical to all the others, it has to be a species tag alone (Renamon is probably the best example of this). If that one is visually distinct from the others, however, it would also need a distinct name tag to separate it from the species, and I have no idea what that name would be.

So, we could do something like Death_Knight_(Hamsuke's_partner), but the reason I'm tip-toeing around making a species tag, unless we add the suffix _(overlord), is because we have the general death_knight and we allow it to be tagged on any instance of any death Knight, despite any possible differences. And unfortunately yes, he does look like the rest, so I'm torn between "do we just tag death_knight, do we create death_knight_(overlord) as a species tag, or do we create that as a character tag?"... there's pros and cons for each of them, the biggest being how many tags we want to use for searching/blacklisting and how accurate we want to represent the lore of Overlord.

Note: as per the discussion carried out on Discord, I’ve added create implication momon_(overlord) -> overlord_(series)

Necrobumping because of both season 4 and a game titled "Overlord: Escape from Nazarick" are slated for 2022 releases, which will cause fanart of Overlord to resurface when they release. So, we might want to work on this BUR.
