Reason:

Character from the franchise.

Dunno about this, I know it's a character, but due to artistic differences - and the fact that moomintrollet is an extremely, extremely generic character, looking like every other moomin, I don't see how we could tell this character apart from other moomin.

I don't remember the show clearly (and I haven't read the comic) but wasn't moomintroll the only one who was absolutely generic? Without hat, glasses or anything?

Wasn't his siblings identical as well? Did he even have siblings? Been a few years as well since I watched the show.

No siblings. Only Snork and Moominpappa look similar, and I'd say that they're easy to tell apart.

Wikipedia has only 3 characters in "The Moomin family" subsection: moomintroll and his parents. I don't see anyone as generic as him here either.
