The tag alias #55071 defias27 -> nsfw_def has been rejected.

Reason: Defias27 is the SFW account name and nsfw_def is their nsfw account name.

Have they indicated they are okay with these two being merged? Most of the time artists that have separate NSFW tags prefer them to remain unaffiliated.

Defias27 is a character name, defias27_(artist) is their artist name. Changing the character name to nsfw_def doesn't look right. If anything, defias27 should be disambiguated to suggest defias27_(character) for the character and defias27_(artist) for the artist, so people don't end up using the character tag when they mean the artist.

Also if they are fine with their defias27 and nsfw_def names being merged, I think it would be better to swap the alias. Defias27 seems to be their default name, while their NSFW account name simply prepends nsfw_ and truncates it. Though as Rainbow Dash says, sometimes artists purposely separate their SFW and NSFW names, and in the case of nsfw_def, neither their Twitter or FA mentions defias27. Nor does defias27's Twitter mention nsfw_def. Do they mention it somewhere else?

He is a friend of mine. I asked him about what name he'd prefer using on e621 and he said NSFW_Def would be fine

Def_(character) and Def_(artist) might be better though I supposed?

Though I created Def_the_Arcanine character tag for his Sona already.

He told me sometime ago he's moving away from "defias" and would rather be just Def. The only issue is that on twitter the tag @Def is already taken by a suspended account (which is kinda dumb that it still exists)

Unless that's the actual name the creator uses to refer to them, it's best to avoid [name]_the_[species] style character tags in case they're drawn as an alternate_species (where it would get confusing) or if they change species in the future but stay the same character otherwise.

seems a little generic. I'm not sure even def_(character) and def_(artist) would be distinct enough, but other people can chime in on that.

A little update, I talked with him a bit more about it he says Def_(Artist) and Def_(Character) would be the best choice to him.
