Topic: LillianWinters character/owner?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Noticed there's a bunch of posts with the LillianWinters character tag that are different characters belonging to the FA user LillianWinters.

Even with the solo tag, users seem to also be tagging their dragon hybrid character with the LillianWinters tag.
I assume we don't want this? The dragon has a name, it's Ina. There is also Oryn that has been given the same tag on occasion.

Ina has a few character sheet posts over the years but is certainly not the same as the Lillian bear character.

From what I can tell, the owner considers Oryn and Ina to be siblings, and are both Winters. Dunno what tag would be most appropriate. Currently there is no Ina character tag.
I do see there is an Oryn_winters tag though.

It likely needs a cleanup. If the characters in the pictures aren't named LillianWinters, then the tag ought to be removed and replaced as possible (like with an ina_winters tag). It's possible whoever is using them could be trying to use it as a copyright tag for the owner but is sticking in the LillianWinters character's tag by mistake.

Note though that generally we don't tag character owners, except sometimes as part of a common character name to disambiguate it.

I occasionally post artworks for Lillian on e621.

To clarify:

I'm guessing that a lot of people got lazy and just tagged lillianwinters over all three of her characters, so there is definitely a lot of overlap.

That's not how e621's tagging works. The character owner isn't in the pictures; her characters are. So, we tag the characters' names. If Lillian Winters the character isn't in the picture, lillianwinters the character tag isn't tagged. That's how TWYS works.

If she must have her name attached to the characters, it can be added to the pictures' description, added to the characters' wiki, or a separate copyright tag can be created and added to pictures of her characters, either manually or via implications.

Tags get invalidated for doing that (such as this relatively recent one ). A character owner copyright tag needs special permission from the admins to be allowed, and without that, lillianwinters either needs to be a character tag for the character, or it needs to be removed (and given that it's a name, lillian_winters with the space/underscore to separate the first and last name would be better).

To be honest, that's my preferred solution.
