Topic: Question about certain tags

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Something that confuses me are certain tags. This isn't meant to be anything instigating, just a question. Certain posts that are politically controversial (this one, for an example 1300557) have tags that are locked that are otherwise relevant. This is a stupid question of mine, but how is it not transphobia? I understand its not explicitly stating something transphobic, but the post is transphobic as its:

1) stating that being trans is a "lie" and that kids are being "fed these lies" as if being trans is a disease (no ones "transing" kids)

2) stating that because over 90% of people identify as their sex assigned at birth means that trans people are suddenly inferior (sort of how i took it. Might be wrong tho)

3) stating that there are only 2 genders (gender is fluid. There are 3 sexes, female, male and intersex which has its own categories within it)

I'm not saying "oh take this post down because its offensive!!!", I'm just confused why its not tagged with what it is. I have Transphobia blacklisted, and there are arts from that guy that i do like for example, but i don't want to see that post. But it has transphobia locked for what reason? This is probably really stupid of me to ask, sorry.

You can directly link posts by typing in post #<ID>, so the post you are referring to is post #1300557.

As for your concerns, tags are most probably locked so that it does not get abused (by people either adding or removing it). Another thing is that transphobia isn't a widely used or well defined tag, so it would be hard to determine which posts would be eligible for the tag (if it's even valid).

If you do not wish to see the post in your search results, I believe you can directly blacklist the post itself by adding in id:1300557 into your blacklist.

Edit: The post in question has also been the topic of a previous thread, see topic #18665 for more info.

Well, that was a hot mess and a half. One of the users arguing against tagging the post was later banned for posting this. Another one cited Jordan Peterson to back up their argument. The site admin spends half the thread arguing that the opinions in the post are OK because it isn't literally a historical propaganda poster created by the Nazi party.

Is it too soon to ask for a rethink?
