Wiki seems a bit contradictory. A fanny pack is so named because it was designed to be worn over the "fanny"--British slang for butt. If Fannypacking is a sex position involving being harnessed to a partner, then by name it should at the very least include the reverse, where the person is harnessed to the pack where they would be the penetrating partner.

No, it's American slang for butt. In Britain it means vagina, hence why it's more common to refer to "fanny packs" as "bum bags".
