Topic: The "my" tag

Posted under General

my seems to be a copyright tag, is that on purpose? It seems as though it's just being used for mlp, and is probably a typo of my_little_pony, but I know so little about the franchise I thought it might be best to ask first.

Also, there are apparently 18 posts tagged with my, but only one shows up, so my guess is the rest were deleted.

Anyway, if that's the case, implicate my to invalid_tag?

Yep, someone must've forgotten to use the underscores. Most of those also have the little tag. There were about twenty of those tagged on deleted posts too, I cleared those up.

Might be common enough to alias.

Yeah, it's just some user that forget to put underscores in my_little_pony

There's a couple other my* tags like my_life_as_a_teenage_robot, so aliasing it to my_little_pony obviously wouldn't make sense. However, aliasing it to invalid_tag definitely makes it easier to clean up. +1 to that.

Hey, is it just me or has invalid_tag disappeared from tag search?

This search link shows 4 tags: invalid-david, invalid, invalid_sorce (sic), invalidgriffin

(or is this because invalid_tag claims to have minus 41 taggings, and (speculating here) ntaggings < 0 aren't shown?)

I don't know what they have on their backend, but yes, that's probably why. This search link shows it.

Hah, I forgot about empty tags option, thanks. (that is still strange, since invalid_tag isn't actually empty, but oh well)

The count doesn't update every time you add it, it does it periodically in batches I think. If you add a brand new tag to a bunch of posts you'll notice it usually says "1" for a while till the system recounts it. In the right conditions it'll actually say 0 for a while, which is extra silly when you're clearly looking at the post that it is tagged under.

Sweet, then I thought correctly :D

Along the same vein, do you think little is a useless tag as well? I think it's too vague to be used as literally just "something in the image is small," and is probably just a continuation of the same mlp typo. Must asking because I think it could be useful to simply alias both of these to invalid_tag at the same time.
