Topic: the forgotten furry icon

Posted under Off Topic

We've all seen furry characters from the past that helped build the furry fandom, disney and warner bros helped with most of that, there were even such old classics like fritz the cat, animalympics, and the secret of nimh. But what if I told you that there was a furry icon that not only had his own song but also his own music video, and despite that no seems to remember him, he did awaken a small cult following at the time. I'm, of course, talking about Jay Duck. Little is know about this singing sensation, hell I couldn't even find a wiki page on him, all I do know is that in 1983, in the UK, Magnet, Baby Records and RCA Records Ltd. released a single called Jay Duck & J.D. Revolution. A year later, Italtoons released a short animated music video by Guido Manuli featuring Jay Duck and his band performing in front of large audience of, well, ducks. Now knowing what I'm calling "the furry community of the time" there was no lack in fanservice, as a well endowed female duck was also animated into it to introduce Jay Duck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbRoJjp3dTE
I'm sure there are other furry Icons somewhere out there that have been lost in time, but hopefully they will never truly be forgotten.

Interesting, definitely one that has slipped through the cracks of history. I have vague memories of seeing rhis on Night Flight, probably about 1985 or so (I’m old).
