Reason: This is going to be the first of several BURs related to stuff going in one hole and exiting the other in various manners. I'm keeping these separate because there's a lot of non-obvious issues with each one that I'm still unsure about how I want to solve.

This one contains only the threading subtags implying the main tag , which should be pretty non-controversial. Once BUR #32635 gets approved, I'll be changing the name change from "all_the_way_through" to "threading", because adding yet more words to an already 4 words long tag is a bit clumsy, and it just makes more sense to have the main tag use the same root as its children. I'm leaving out the orifice implications for the time being because there's a bunch of less obvious cases (for instance: "should oral_threading imply oral_penetration if the anus is out of frame and all we see is a tentacle coming of someone's ass?") that should be discussed separately.

I intend to have threading set appart from impalement, meeting_in_the_middle and the new emerging_from_both_ends tag. I'm expecting the definition to read something like "When something enters an orifice and exits any other orifice such that it can be seen going through both at the same time", though there are still a few things to iron out to cleanly set it appart from impalement (see forum #327805). I'd ideally want one of these BURs to involve cum_through and all the other x_through tags, possibly full_tour as well, but I've yet to find a good umbrella name for these.

Reason: The current definition for double_threading reads:

Threading on two individuals simultaneously by a single tentacle/penis/snake/etc. It doesn't strictly need to go all the way through both individuals at once, "threading-and-a-half" (all the way through one, then going into another) is enough.

This puts the tag in a weird spot where that definition makes it broader than the name implies, but making the definition narrower would miss a number of cases where it seems weird not to include it even though nothing's going through two or more individuals...

...or where it's just plain hard to tell what's going on through some clusterfuck of tentacles. It's been bugging me for a while, so I'm opting to split the tag into thread_transfer for any case of threading that continues its way into someone else, and serial_threading for instances where multiple people are actually being threaded. The latter's name was inspired by the stuff in ATWT (some also tagged double_threading) that I ended up naming parallel_threading. With those definition, the current double_threading tag only matches thread_transfer, so I'll be aliasing it there, at least for the time being.

There are interesting cases that might benefit from an actual tag with the name double_threading, but for now it's probably more useful to alias it so people can more easily find the new tag.

The reason why I'm currently on the fence about {ORIFICE}_threading implying {ORIFICE} is two things, really:

• I have all the cloacas tagged as anal_threading, and it would be incorrect to have those count as anal.

• anal_threading can be inferred from stuff emerging from the mouth, and likewise with oral_threading (vaginal_threading generally takes more direct evidence to tag). It works a bit like full_tour in that regard, and inherits a common issue I have with it where I'm not sure whether or not that means anal/oral penetration is "seen" when only the exit is clearly visible.

Figured I'd bump this given how I just updated the all the way through wiki page with that list.

I'll say, though, I'd very much prefer if BUR #2100 (from topic #32635) could go through before going ahead with this, since the current expectations for a tag like all_the_way_through become kind of muddy once you start counting the likes of in_one_ear_and_out_the_other in there. Chaning the name of the base tag might make this re-definition more obvious.

I think that all_the_way_through is easier to understand at a glance so having that be the tag that shows up on the taglist would be better.

On one hand, I very much agree, but the problem is that all these new types of threading make all the way through a lot more broad than I think the people searching for it will expect.

Should, say, in_one_ear_and_out_the_other be covered under all the way through? In my heart and soul, I don't think it should, and I'd imagine most people looking for ATWT would feel similarly. ATWT is "supposed to be" anus <-> mouth; it's "the one that makes sense", the original one. Lumping all these other types of threading under ATWT means it's now difficult to search for the original, as it was probably starting to become for pregnant before the addition of pregnant female.

Switching to a new root term, threading, means we could do new things with all_the_way_through, either repurposing it to only target that initial case ("gastrointestinal all-the-way-through", if you will) or just aliasing it to threading to show it should no longer be used, possibly while making a new tag for that common case (I'm open to suggestions but I don't think I'll be going through all these posts again to add that one).

EDIT: Also consider that, as of right now, urethral all the way through is a stricter variant of urethral threading in that the former has to be urethra -> urethra, whereas the latter (as with all the other *_threading tags) only specifies the penetration orifice and can be mismatched in any number of ways (such as urethra -> ear). It would make sense to me if ATWT was to be recycled a subset of threading, as in only the "normal" variant of oral and anal/cloacal(?) threading.

Threading would then act as the parent tag, covering any instances of a single, whole entity emerging from one hole while being inserted through a different hole (plus requirements to set it appart from impalement and such).
