Topic: How to get posts flagged for deletion

Posted under General

I uploaded a large number of posts of art featuring a person's fursona, only to learn that the owner of the art was strongly against having the art that belonged to them posted to this site. Upon learning this, I immediately flagged all the posts for deletion, citing the that the art owner had requested the removal of the images, and since it was well within the 48 hour limit of all the posts being uploaded, I assumed they would be removed. Instead of being deleted, however, the posts were all approved. I made a mistake in posting those images, one that I am trying to rectify. How can I get the images that I posted removed?

A character owner cannot have DNP status. You did use the 48 hour reason, usually that's granted... not sure what happened. When that doesn't work, you have to tell the owner to file a takedown.

Alas you've learned the hard way why asking for posting permissions is the best thing to do before archiving.

This is exactly why when people upload content, we assume they have the permission to do so. After the content is uploaded, if it is according to our rules and guidelines, it stays.
Also, just like with literally any other user content website, copyright holder has to file a takedown to get their content removed. We are already going steps beyond this and not requiring formal DMCA or real life info or even account on this website, have DNP list for artists and allow other first parties who aren't copyright holders, including character owners and commissioners, to file takedowns as well.

As such, flagging tens of posts with "The art owner has requested removal" when it's 10 differend artists, is ridiculous and most definitely false claim, because I won't believe that after uploading from 10 seperate artists, all 10 seperate artists suddenly privately contacted you and revoked their permission to post their material.
And even if it was single post from single artists, I have zero way to verify who you are or if who contacted you were the author or other first party to begin with. These things are part of the takedown process, not flags.

No. Unless content againts guidelines or rules in some manner, these kind of flags should not be respected.
48 hour flag is basically just fallback in rare circumstances where nothing else really works, this includes stuff like posting family holiday JPG instead of the artwork that was meant to be uploaded.

Even in cases where someone accidentally posted wrong version, the deletion reason is usually changed to be stuff like inferior version or patreon leaked material, not 48 hour reason.

Removing the posts is now out of your hands, I'm afraid. You can do nothing more than tell the character's owner so they can file the appropriate Takedowns.
