Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: princess_chain_chomp -> chompette

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #43663 princess_chain_chomp -> chompette has been rejected.

Reason: it could be princess chain chomp to chompette or the other way around, it doesnt matter. its just right now theres two tags for basically the same thing? unless someone thinks theyre not the same thing

EDIT: The tag implication princess_chain_chomp -> chompette (forum #330223) has been rejected by @slyroon.

The -ette suffix refers to Toadette. Stop using it to refer to super crowned anything else, the part that gets added is Peach, combining to names like Peach and Toadette into Peachette. The more proper term in this case would be Peachomp, merging the CH at the end of Peach and the start of Chomp.

Of course, this isn't an official character by any means. The tag should be aliased to Super Crown, and users made to just tag both super_crown chain_chomp. Maybe change the usage of bowsette_meme to include other princessified characters (super_crowned instead, maybe?).

That's how the internet tends to refer to super crowned characters.
That aside, whether or not it's a proper portmanteau doesn't matter, the __ette wording is a reference to the original bowsette meme.

The two aren't necessarily the same. Chompette refers specifically to the SC meme. Maybe the difference doesn't matter, but lacking a super crown means it isn't chompette. Having one means it is.

The -ette suffix is a generic English colloquialism to "feminize" a presumed (but not necessarily) masculine word. e.g. dude -> dudette, smurf -> smurfette, bachelor -> bachelorette. Toadette is just an instance of a character's (or species?) name taking on the suffix to indicate a female variant. It's similar to or the same as the -ess suffix (prince -> princess, steward -> stewardess, dragon -> dragoness). Of course the question becomes if it's necessary to have a female variant of the chain_chomp tag, since chain_chomp doesn't presume a gender and it's not an official species or character.

I think ette is actually french

In any case, the OP's suggestion is an implication request, when I think they meant it to be an alias request. Whatever action should occur, I don't think we should make princess_chain_chomp imply chompette...

If appears that the character in question is not just a regular chain chomp, though, but a humanoidized chain chomp. It seems no different than the bowsette situation.

It is like a bowsette situation, but now imagine there's also a princess bowser tag for a character that may or may not be the same as bowse
