You have a better way of describing unidentifiable dogs?

That's why I ask. This originated from a post with the mixed breed tag when the dog was a cockapoo. Someone corrected me and said it was valid. I searched it and it was true, a cockapoo is a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. I searched for what the mixed breeds I was speaking of and I got the answer mutt and mongrel.

Hybrid describes a breed of dog that is made of multiple breeds, naturally.

Crossbreed describes a breed of dog that is made of multiple breeds, Unnaturally.

That's why I ask how to people feel about those words.

I've heard both used negatively, but mongrel moreso than mutt. The negative aspect to them probably comes from the popularity of purebreds, so mix-breeds are seen as lesser.

i've heard of "heinz 57" but i ain't got no problem calling them mutts

I literally use mutt for unidentifiable dog breeds all the time. I don't see where the stigma to them is and never heard of it (They're animals, they don't care). Frankly I use them more in an affectionate manner.
