Hello! Sorry to bug, but I just wanted to see if I could get this taken care of.

For a good long while, my main characters' tags were "name_(username)" (ie: rose_(skybluefox), etc etc). At some point, though, someone created new tags for them with surnames, and alias'd the old ones to the new ones (ie: rose_(skybluefox) would become rose_lansing).

Now, I had used those surnames with my characters before... but it was exactly once, five-ish years ago now. I haven't used the surnames since - not in comms, not in my own writing or art, nothing. So I wanted to see if I could get these tags switched back to being "name_(username)" style?

In other words, I'd like these character tags changed around:

bill_mathias -> bill_(skybluefox)
rose_lansing -> rose_(skybluefox)
cyan_caldwell -> cyan_(skybluefox)
erin_bennett -> erin_(skybluefox)
star_akagi -> star_(skybluefox)
vale_ishihara -> vale_(skybluefox)

I know it's kinda small in the grand scheme of things, but if anyone could help me out with this, I'd be super-grateful.

You can, but the process is kind of annoying. The site doesn't support reversing aliases in one step, so you have to submit multiple BURs. The second one can't be submitted until the first one has been approved by an admin, which can take literal years, especially for low-priority tasks like character names. You might have some success personally bugging them to fast-track you as the character owner - I remember wanderlust recently got one of their aliases changed this way. (For the record, the original source of the aliases was topic #25382 - ignore the weird format, BURs didn't exist back then so multiple requests had to be submitted manually.)

Go up to the top of this page and click "Request BUR", then fill out the script with multiple lines of this format:

Type this topic number (33926) in the "topic" field to keep all the discussion in one place.

When or if that gets approved, you can then follow the same procedure to switch the alias back the other way, using this script:

Yeaaah, someone else I messaged about it basically mentioned the same thing. I wasn't sure whether I'd need to use remove-alias or update or whatever in the BUR, though, so I decided to make it as a regular topic just in case.

As for my writing, I took the anthro story off of AO3 mostly just to keep my account on there strictly SFW, but you can still find all the chapters on my FA account. I haven't really written much on it since then, though; ever since I started taking college courses again, it's been hard to really find the time to brainstorm and focus on those bigger stories. The last couple years in particular I really burned out hard, so I've been trying to take it easy this year and just do little drabbles for any comms and art I do. Hopefully I'll get my energy back with time! :,u
