Topic: small blacklist question (new here go easy)

Posted under General

so i currently have ~hyper blacklisted because i just dont like it most of the time. nothing wrong with that. but, of course, there are a few posts that i have enjoyed enough to favorite, this can get really annoying when i have to constantly uncheck my blacklist every time i want to search through my favorites and will probably only get worse as i favorite more and more things.

is there any way to specifically not target your favorites list when adding things to blacklist tags, i really dont want to have to be constantly adding post IDs or using overly long unnecessary tagging lists every time i want to favorite these types of images.

im usually a lurker, and i dont tend to hop over to the forum section so i really dont know if this is the correct place for this, let alone if someone has asked this before, if i could get some guidance on this that would be great!

Sadly, iirc fav:egg_head is unavailable for blacklisting. You can only try to determine if there's something extra to what you love about those hyper images. If it's something like excessive_cum, you could do hyper -excessive_cum, or if an artist, hyper -artist_tag to exempt them, but finding new ones will require you to uncheck your list from time to time.

i see, well ill certainly look into doing that. and yes, i tried every variation on "fav:egg_head" and none of them worked. i feel like this should be added as a feature somehow, but i dont know how easy that would be

The default blocklist supports fav:me It doesn't accept a name and only applies to your own favorites while logged in. -fav:me also works.

~hyper -fav:me

on the same line.

This means that all images with hyper will be blacklisted, unless they are in your favorites.

the ~ isn't necessary if you're only blacklisting a single thing. ~ only does anything if there's multiple tags prefixed with it in the search/blacklist item. although in that case you could also just do two separate blacklist items and have nearly identical effect.

blacklisting ~hyper is the same as blacklisting hyper, and by extension ~hyper -fav:me = hyper -fav:me

tilde become useful when doing multiple things at once, ~hyper_breasts ~hyper_butt -fav:me would blacklist any post containing either of the two included tags excluding any posts you've favorited.
alternately you could blacklist hyper_breasts -fav:me and hyper_butt -fav:me on separate lines to have nearly the same effect, the only diffrence being that they'd show up separately on the blacklist toggler thing.

You are confusing search syntax with blocklist syntax. The blocklist does not support ~

https://e621.net/help/blacklist goes over everything. The only thing it is currently missing is information about score filtering and the ability to use fav:me. I will see about getting them added here soon.

I just tested ~ in the blacklist and it seemed like it functioned as I'd expect it to... is that functionality that re621 adds somehow?
