Topic: How hybrids with mammalian characteristics should be handled under non-mammal_breasts?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Should mammal parts disqualify ("mammal part = boobs acceptable" logic), or qualify them for that tag ("non-mammal part = boobs unacceptable" logic)?

What about fictional species?

Also there's a lot of mammals tagged with it (non-mammal_breasts cetacean for example), I guess they should be removed?

If they're a hybrid with one of the parent species as a mammal, then they would already be tagged as mammal. In those cases, non-mammalian_breasts should be removed as it could be argued that the breasts are one of the parent's mammalian characteristics expressing itself. But if there's no mammalian parent, then non-mammal_breasts would have to stay, no matter how mammalicious they look.

Depends on the fictional species, I suppose.

They should be removed. Real cetaceans certainly are mammals and definitely have mammary glands, although, due to how their environment shaped their species' bodies over evolutionary time, they're not in the same place as land mammals' are (sunken into the body behind the flippers if I'm not mistaken). Of course, the real ones wouldn't have visible mammaries, which likely contributes to the mistaken notion that they don't have them.

I'd say, in relation to hybrids and chimera and the like, if the character has breasts that are visibly covered in scales/feathers/whatever than I'd tag it as non-mammal_breasts even if they're part-mammal, and if the breasts are covered in fur or skin, or if it's difficult to tell than don't use the tag.

cetaceans pretty much shouldn't be tagged that at all. I think a while back there was a bot that was tagging anything with marine + breasts + solo as nmb, but I thought that was fixed...

Is it possible to rename the non-mammal tags? does anyone have ideas if willing? cetaceans, elephants, pinnipeds, etc really make -tags fucky and impractical /non functional.

If I remember correctly there's one on either side of the genital slit.
