Topic: Tag Implication: ovni -> fan_character

I need to get better with using that tag for all the Petrock art I've been uploading >>;;;

I think this idea would work, and be a good one. After all, being a fan_character isn't the type of trait which will change regardless how it is drawn. Implicating at least the big ones would improve consistency for blacklists and searches. And it is an important tag to distinguish canon characters from the fan_characters since a lot of people feel very strongly about that distinction. So yeah, lets go for it.

Implication of ovni to --> fan_character is approved.

I have a few suggestions for fan_character implications in forum #147132 if your interested. If you want I can look into getting more of them (not just MLP) onto the list to implicate but it'll take me a little bit to see what I can dig up. I'll put anything I add at the end in that forum rather than putting them in here.

Fun Fact OVNI means UFO in spanish

And in french. Pretty sure that's the name's inspiration.

As long as we're implicating these, how about Nicobayfan_character? He's probably the most common Pokemon OC.

Since you've brought it up (I'm not too familiar with fan pokemon) do you think fakémon should be implicated to fan_character or possibly aliased instead?

Nope, all comes from the Initial letters of the word, so every languaje call it different, however, since french and spanish comes from latin it's natural they have similar word for that.

Fakemon are non-existant, fan made pokemon, however I think thats a bit complicated, since they can be or not characters. I'll just say they are fan made, it that's worth calling them fan_character then so be it.

Gonna need a fan_species or something. Of course, we could just do fakémon and settle for that, that already says "Hey, this is a fan-inserted species."

Of course, in fanmade species exist in other works as well to a prelevant enough level, I suppose we could imply fakémon to fan_species, but as it stands right now, I don't see any reason to.

Anybody wanna check if there's a big fake-digimon following somewhere?

Sounds good. I got a lot of those done tonight so far, but not all of them done yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Good idea. Done.

Not going to do anything to the fakemon tag yet, to give people a chance to discuss it if need be. It might be fine to leave it as-is, or to implicate it.

I'm going to create an implication thread specifically for discussion on this one.

Edit: forum #148450

While some fakemon are also fan_characters, some are just original species that resemble Pokemon (or in some cases, Digimon). I don't think it should be implicated.

Wouldn't those fall more under mashup anyways? (or a similar tag, I think there was a tag with "fusion" in the name but I can't remember offhand what it was, or if it even exists)

Edit: It might have been pokemon fusion (which needs to get aliased to pokémon_fusion), but it looks like that's slightly different than what you're talking about anyways.
