Based on the wiki, maybe it should alias to underwater_sex instead of aliasing to fully_submerged. It seems to be describing two characters having sex whilst fully submerged, instead of just describing that a character is, well, fully submerged.

fully/fully_submerged doesn't even make sense syntactically, let alone indicate it's for anything sexual.

I can see a difference between "submerged" and "underwater", though. You can be submerged in something other than water, so underwater_sex wouldn't make sense if the characters are having sex while submerged in cum something. Maybe submerged_sex, though that sounds a little wonky to me.

Why do people hide discussion threads? And especially actively pending discussion threads. I really dearly incredibly sincerely wish people would stop doing that. If it's part of tag discussions, then don't hide it. And if it is part of an official tag proposal, don't hide it. Leave it visible.

As for the tag, that is not a very intuitive tag name for it at all. But I think I get what it is trying to do. It's similar to how "predator/prey_relations" used to be formatted. So in this case, it's trying to say that one fully submerged character is having sex with another fully submerged character.

But there has got to be a better way to phrase that concept.

However, I can see how it could be useful as a tag that then implicates to underwater_sex. Because underwater_sex mostly means the sex actions are happening underwater, but sometimes one or both parties can have their head or more above the water. And also, if at least one partner is fully_submerged then adding that to the search would still bring up only partial matches. So I can see some merit to having a tag for this "both fully submerged while having sex" concept. Just not named like this.

So I kind of want to rename the fully/fully_submerged to be a lot clearer name for the concept of "both are fully underwater and they are having sex underwater". And then alias this awkward name to the better name once we come up with one. And then implicate that better name to tags like underwater_sex and fully_submerged both. I think that might be the most practical solution for this one.

So any ideas on what would make a better name for it?

The tag was created by @Fluffball and was mostly tagged by them.

I think it may be useful if made into a subtag for underwater_sex, perhaps a rename to fully_submerged_sex? That will give room for a potential partially_submerged_sex for partially_submerged instances.

EDIT: Both underwater_sex and partially_submerged_sex already exist as separate tags.
The former describes sexual acts between two or more characters fully underwater while the latter describes the same but partially underwater.
An umbrella tag of water_sex is suggested in the wiki, but it is left unused.

Possible solutions:

• Transform underwater_sex into the umbrella tag describing all sorts of sex while in water, and make fully_submerged_sex and partially_submerged_sex its subtags.
• Transform water_sex into the umbrella tag describing all sorts of sex happening while in water, and make underwater_sex/fully_submerged_sex and partially_submerged_sex its subtags.

Both addresses the concern from @furrypickle on the potential mistag of underwater_sex when a character's head is still above water. The route we take just depends on which tag gets renamed & repurposed.

The issue seems to be that there's three potential ways for pairings to go:

1. Both/all characters are partially submerged while having sex (all have some part of their body above water):

The tag at issue, fully/fully_submerged, was an attempt to define 3, but it's entirely unintuitive and a better name would be needed. partially_submerged_sex isn't clear enough to distinguish between 1 and 2, and fully_submerged_sex may not be clear enough to distinguish between 2 and 3.
