Topic: Do you have the tag not_furry blacklisted?

Posted under General

I wonder how many people on e621 have the tag not_furry on their blacklist ... i've always wondered why it was listed as an example in the contentious content tags when you'd go to upload a post

oh yeah ! i'd be interested to hear why or why not too

nope, it doesnt make adifference to me if its furry or not furry. I like anime too and i go to a different booru for this stuff.

real question would be why this tag exists since non-furry is banned here?

1. "Not furry" also includes a range of otherwise non-human characters who are otherwise acceptable.

2. Even in the case of human-only images, these are frequently accepted when they're part of a series. pool #11544 has multiple such images which only feature humans despite being the rest of the work being focused on a gay human/rabbit relationship.

Additionally, kemomimis/humanoids fall under not furry, this includes elves like zelda, or other "human in everyway except for technicatlities" characters

In case you wonder the why upload page encourages you to use not_furry tag as contentious content,
You might want to read this, e621:blacklisting_suggestions.

The specific contents the Wiki mentions are extreme or not liked by everyone, so Not a few people want to avoid seeing them.
Careful handling is required.

Because of that, Tags for specific content should be used by us uploaders ourselves when posting, NOT later NOR by others.
(( If you forget, some fools will start ranting on comments despite they also can edit the tags! ))

Likewise, not_furry is a thing here as long as it's approved, but it can be part of someone's blacklist, too.
e621 is a furry-related image board, after all. It would be fair for people to think want to see furry only.

Remember, Every content may attract people who don't want to see and/or hate them for whatever reason.
The tags of e621 are not only for search but also for blacklisting.

For your information, living_aircraft is my fave. Yes, I love not_furry.
But TBH, I don't like kemonomimi because I love "furries" from animals, not humans.

Sometimes, I do not want to see politics and gore pictures. Even though I Am interested in.

Yes but with exceptions
For the most part if it's SFW or from a few select franchises I like (like Pokémon or Digimon) I'll allow it.

I'm just not into things like demons or robots. That tag catches a bulk of them

Yes and I blocked all not_furry_focus as well, I'm here for furry content only, really hope people remember to add not furry tag when they upload so my eyes won't suffer ( I also add the tag manually when I saw them 🙏)

I think kemonomimi is also not furry ( in a general sense ) but I won't argue the standard here.

not_furry_focus seems useful to blacklist. Thanks for sharing

I have only tree tags blacklisted, so it is pretty "minimalistic". Sometimes, when threads like this in the forum appear, I even praised other users by the includible length of their black lists. But something have prevented that I copy theirs or imitate them.

You see, yes, to have specified these three tags - one of which is "cub" - have made very much pleasant my searches in this site. However, eventually I gave a Favorite to some image that I like, and then I later see it blank, because someone have later added the tag "cub" on it, even when the image is NOT sexual. But yes, one could say it has "cubs" on it.

=(.

I realized that if I extended my blacklist of tags, I could potentially miss a LOT of good art, that I might like very much, even when, by some loose criteria, I generally say that I would not like. The more extense you do your list, the most probable that to happen.

I generally do not like cyborgs (nor do I like in general the esthetics, their usual settings, nor do I have any "fetish" about them). Or Pokemon. Or reptiles. O insects. Or irl inanimate objects... but eventually, if you do not close yourself, you may find very good art of them, unusual, that you initially do not believed that could exists.

Even when I am a Furry, I don't want to close myself to the possibility of seeing real good and admirable non furry art here.
