Topic: Tag Alias: shivering -> trembling

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I'm not 100% sure. Shivering kind of implies that they are cold, while trembling more implies that they are scared or nervous. I don't know if the tags get mixed up, but it seems like they would have different connotations imo. I'm going to stay somewhat tentative on this to see if anyone can bring up a good reason to alias them.

Either way, shiver should probably get aliased to one of these.

That makes for a dubious argument given the material we normally include. Unsurprisingly at least 3/4 of the pics in both cases involve reactions to pleasure or pain rather than cold or fear. the cause of the shaking should just be tagged separately.

Although I don't know how we would tag them separately (aside from wet or snow) you're probably right in any case.

Switched it to be a set of implications:

shivering to --> shaking
trembling to --> shaking

and approved. There's merit in the different connotations and this makes shaking an umbrella tag for when neither meaning can be determined. If it turns out that it includes most images and distinguishing them doesn't work as well as hoped, then eventually they may all get aliased to --> shaking. But we'll try the implications for now. I'm going to hazard a guess though that all three of these are probably going to need some cleanup.

Might want to get to oscillating too, which is when an animal is shaking water off. That the tag hasn't been used is honestly surprising, but that's what the word is.

I've only ever heard that in reference to physics, electricity, etc. I could see how the animal definition might be technically oscillation, but I can't find any reference to it being defined as that.

I vote for all_animals_are_dogs :p

Take a look at this quest about fuzzy space rabbits. Surprised more of their artwork hasn't shown up under neumono, but eh. "Oscillation" is how they dry off, and Belenos would probably do that too.
...Just gave myself a cute mental image of a Heef oscillating. Big fat fluffy space-crows.

Of interest: all of these species are owned by Lagotrope, and he's gone through and given a bunch of reproductive explanations on them. He's a swell dude.
