Leggings, among others, are classified as legwear, and I wouldn't call wearing only leggings "mostly nude".

That raises the question of why pants aren't?

Leggings honestly should have their implication changed to bottomwear instead of legwear. They're more akin to pants than thigh_highs or leg_warmers.

But to address the proposed implication at the beginning of the thread, yeah, wearing only socks would definitely be mostly_nude so it's a good implication to make.

Would you say the same for pantyhose?

Yes, pantyhose should definitely have it's implication fixed as well.

I think so, yes. +1 for changing both leggings and pantyhose to bottomwear.

Glad we're in agreement there! And what was your opinion on the initially proposed implication in this thread?

Since I got reminded of this thread recently...

Do you think there exists an actual, taggable distinction between pantyhose and tights? The best the tights wiki can muster up is this:

Pantyhose is an American term for garments that take the form of tights, but are thinner, and more sheer than tights. Pantyhose and tights are functionally a form of underwear intended to be worn under bottomwear.

The main difference between tights and pantyhose is the thickness of the material. In some countries, the term tights refers to both thin, and thick constructions.

All the pantyhose wiki has to offer is this:

  • tights - Pantyhose are very closely associated with tights, and can probably be considered a form of tights.

Both wiki pages barely stop short of saying one should imply the other. It seems like a distinction that is hard to justify under TWYS for stylised art, and probably causes a lot of posts to fail to show up in searches they should show up in.

According to currently existing tagging, these are pantyhose:

Whereas these are tights:

These, meanwhile, are apparently both:

I ask mainly because both pantyhose and tights have the faulty legwear implication, so if they are to be aliased together then now's the time.

I wonder if making transparency the sole distinction would work. Pantyhose for transparent clothing, tights if they're opaque. It might still be mistagged often though
