I still think paws should be invalidated. It's just a cutesy furry way of saying hands or feet that gives no distinction, and it ranges from fur-covered humanoid hands/feet on an anthro, humanoid hands/feet with pawpads, digitigrade feet on an anthro, to full on digitigrade feet or forepaws/hands on a feral.

Disambiguation should be avoided whenever possible, it's a last recourse for when there is no alternative solution (like character names).

In this case, paws_on_* could be aliased to X_on_*, for example.

Not really, because "paws" can mean hands or feet. So paws_on_butt can't be aliased to hand_on_butt since it could be feet, and it can't be aliased to foot_on_butt since it could be hands. Can't be aliased to butt either, in case the thing the hands/feet are on is only implied from positioning or context and not directly visible.
