I quite commonly find posts in which a subject of ambiguous gender is tagged with multiple gender tags at once. Most recently, I saw a post of a solo feral character with a vagina and (typical of ferals) an androgynous body shape tagged with both female and andromorph.

Whenever I've seen such posts, I've "fixed" the tags by settling on a single gender, but considering how often I'm seeing this, I'm starting to wonder if I'm the one who's mistaken.

Is there some obscure consensus that characters disqualified fron the ambiguous_gender tag that could be interpreted as more than one gender be tagged as multiple genders?

No, people just suck at tagging gender and have done for as long as e621 has existed.

I confess that I'm not 100% certain on that Kanga and Roo comic, that ALL the gender tags are right. I mean, they're obviously the mother and son, but not sure if I got the TWYS thing right. Sigh, yeah, I guess we all suck at it sometimes.
