There's also currently a stated_underage tag. Do you guys think we should have stated_young and stated_adult or would some tag combination suffice for searching those?

I don't think there can be a tag combination for that. Text isn't generally used for tagging, except for describing the text itself. A character saying "I'm young!" wouldn't cause young to be applicable if their age is visually ambiguous or clearly older, nor does it necessarily cause young_(lore) to be applicable since it can conflict with known information (e.g. the artist says all characters are 18+; characters can lie or be mistaken, or mean something different than what e6's tags means, like a 20 year old stating they're young, relative to 30+ year olds, or a 15 year old stating they're an adult, with a 20-year life expectancy).

Though, given that a character stating to be older or younger doesn't necessarily align with either visual or lore information for tagging, I don't think they'd be too useful on their own (we don't need to transcribe a post's text into the tags). stated_age is probably good enough, IMO.

You make a fair enough point, but since it's not searchable with tag combinations, I wonder if a stated_underage tag could be important as a blacklist item. Porn with a character saying "I'm 14!" might make someone very uncomfortable, even if the character looks adult enough to not be tagged young under TWYS and isn't young_(lore) due to an artist disclaimer.
