Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: dark-skinned_futanari -> dark_skin

The tag alias #61638 dark-skinned_futanari -> dark_skin has been approved.

Reason: Do we really need this attempt at an end run around the aliasing of futanari? Imagine the amount of tags we'd need if we tagged all the genders in dark skin, light skin, and colors in between. In any case, dark-skinned_female has already been aliased to dark_skin, although, to be honest, I would have aliased these tags to their genders (herm, female).

EDIT: The tag alias dark-skinned_futanari -> dark_skin (forum #360257) has been approved by @slyroon.

I think dark_skin is too vague and should be aliased away in general. Dark is a relative term which can cover anything that's not pure white, from nearly pitch black to a very slight tan. The same character can be considered "dark skin" or "light skin" depending on the brightness of other characters or objects around them. light_skin suffers the same problem, just the other way around.

As hinted above, my first impulse was to alias it to herm, not dark_skin. Here, I'm following the example of the dark-skinned_female -> dark_skin, but it won't be hard to dealias that and just alias both to the genders instead. Opinions?

I know this is an old thread, but to be entirely honest, the light_skin and dark_skin tags are largely used for race (particularly in humans, sometimes humanoids) since we don't have any other tags to denote human races. We could probably use a better solution for that, but the tags currently fill that particular niche that we can't really get rid of, particularly due to how often we (unfortunately) have to tell people to blacklist human light_skin or human dark_skin if it upsets them so much. That's primarily why the actual lightness or darkness seems arbitrary in a lot of cases. Just like in real life, race isn't always cleanly divided by skin tone. There is some overlap, but a (especially human) character recognizably belonging to certain races will usually be tagged with one or the other.
