Topic: Not approved?

I'd say it's been about a week since I uploaded this art piece to the site, Why wasn't it approved yet, I've genuinely uploaded worse things than this and they still got approved somehow, those posts are deleted now though because I wanted them gone.

Anyways I just want to know why this isn't getting any mod approval yet, my other Renamon piece was approved rather quickly compared to this one and personally I can't see much of a difference between the two quality wise.

the current cue for unapproved posts is currently 3,400 and the amount of users who can approve posts are around 35 and all of them have other responsibilities that are stacking up faster than they can recruit new staff

a post taking a bit to get approved is perfectly normal, i mean look at this beute that hasn't gotten approved for just under a month!:

this ain't mods intentionally trying to lame your art out, this is just a result of a huge workload

Consider that most mods (or specifically Janitors) are actual human beings with busy lives and actually volunteer their free time to moderate content.
They can only approve a handful of posts per day and the queue gets larger with every passing day.

You are not entitled to ask for swift approval of your posts. You will need to wait like every other user who also have to wait for their posts to get approved.
If your post hasn't been tended to within 30 days (which is unlikely), then you may ask for review of your post before it gets automatically deleted.

If you really want to wonder why yours hasn't been approved yet, I can tell you that most "good quality" artworks usually get approved by a mod instantaneously or within a few days, and the same can be said for "bad quality" artworks which would be deleted very soon.
Those artworks that sit in between "good quality" and "bad quality" (or the grey area for quality) often get left in the queue for multiple mods to go through them and decide collectively if it should stay or go. Those that don't reach a consensus in time (i.e., after 30 days) get automatically deleted by the automod.

When I checked the information for approval It said that after 30 days a post is automatically deleted and that you couldn't post it again unless you would want your account suspended.

If your telling the truth then I should be fine, I hope. I was just worried that something like that would happen and that it would be a waste of art.

This makes sense, Thanks for explaining what's going on! I hope everything gets sorted out soon.

You should really only request for a review (ideally through the e6 Discord for faster response) if it has been sitting in the queue for ~20+ days or more, where it is at risk of being automatically deleted.
Not because it hasn't been checked on for a few days or 1 week.

If it does indeed get deleted by the automod, you are not allowed to upload the same artwork again onto the site since it can be considered to be "not good enough" for approval.
If you are worried that it would be a waste of art, try uploading to more personal art galleries like FurAffinity, FurryNetwork, SoFurry, etc. They do not have a strict quality control process like we do over here.

Is Discord the only way to contact approvers directly, or is there any other way? I'm not objecting to discord, I'm just curious of the other way.

we got an on-site dm system, just go to a user's profile and click on the "send message" link on the header

Should I just message one of the people that approved my work before? Will they respond?

I wouldn't start bothering people about it, unless it's been 22 days or longer, and it's still not approved. Most things get approved within the first two weeks, so if you wait then it will probably be handled soon enough.

But sometimes things get busy, or takes a bit longer.

If it's been longer than three weeks, then there may be a problem with it (so asking someone to review it, they may be able to tell you why there is an issue). It also could be right on the borderline between relevant vs not relevant enough, or okay quality vs not good enough quality, or be a really nice image but have a technical quality issue like too many artifacts or badly scanned in, etc.

In any case, if it's been longer than three weeks, or 22+ days, then it is fine to ask someone to look at it and make a decision about it.

We try to make sure that anything still left unapproved by the time the automoderater deletes things, were also just too borderline to really approve or otherwise not quite acceptable enough to approve.

But sometimes something slips through or gets overlooked. So if you have something that is auto-deleted after 30 days, then you can also request it to be reviewed. If the staff member agrees it was deleted by mistake, they can restore it. If they think that it was never approved for a reason, then they can explain some reasons why it was not approved.

But don't go bothering people when it's only been a week. People can still favorite it and enjoy it while it's still pending. There's no need to worry about it until it's getting close to that autodeletion deadline, and still hasn't been approved. But until then, just be patient.
