Topic: Herms: what I like and what I don't

Posted under Off Topic

To start, I gotta say that not everyone will agree with me here. A lot of you won't and that's cool. I just wanted to know how many others are like me. So here's the deal: I'm a straight dude (I'm pretty sure, anyway), but I can see the attraction of having a dick on a girl, given a few criteria: I like dicks on girls, not guys that have become girls, and she's gotta have a vagoo. I don't like the idea of TOUCHING a dick on a girl, but it'd be hot if she fucked another girl with one. If she's getting fucked, it's hot if she cums on herself, especially if she's unable to touch her dick, and just has to stare at her erection until she give unloads all over herself (although if she can't handle it and needs to rub one out while she's getting fucked, that's cool too). Basically: if she's gotta dick, she knows how great BJs are, and it'd probably be hot to DP another girl with a herm. A herm that's adamant that dicks go in girls is a good herm in my book.

So yeah. It's kind of ironic that I really only like herms with vaginas because I think I prefer to see them take it up the butt, but I was having a discussion about anal with a female friend of mine and I was telling her that I think I really only like the idea of a girl taking it in the backdoor because there's a front door. From doggy style, anal looks like a big ol' meat shaft just burying into a nice ass, and from a missionary position you can get a good view of the pussy while you fuck the tightest of holes.

To be honest, it's one of the more common furry things that I don't really like. Not sure why.

Fair enough, I can respect that. I don't think there's a single thing that "does it" for everyone anyways. The upside is we get more variety because of all those different kinks. So there's always a good side to it.

Personally, I like herms because it's like the deluxe combo package, with all of the fun bits in one place. So that's just what I meant by 'twice the fun'. lol

Well to be fair, a lot of "stabbing" goes on there.

I have herms blacklisted. Nothing against them personally, but I like my fap material to only have one gender of genetalia per person.
I also have things like fishnet, stockings, and girly blacklisted as I like for my men to conform to oppressive gender roles. No sissy boys allowed in my "-female -rating:safe" searches.

My blacklist makes it look like I only like things that aren't well-tagged or nezumi.

I agree, I much prefer dickgirls to herms.

Personally, I like to just skip the balls entirely. Cock +vagoo -balls = yay, for me anyway :P

As for me, whenever I something like that, my immediate thought is castration
I've been on this site too long ;_;

Gabe Newell [/i]Seriously tho, I don't really mind herms.
Apart from when the person who owns the character comes here and starts drama.

Herms bore me. I don't think I have any in my favorites.

Dunno how to explain it, but... They tend to have large breasts, large genitals, oversexed poses, etc. I just get the feeling that the artist is trying too hard to appeal to everyone, and somehow I find that off-putting.

I completely see your point, I hate when artists try to cram too much onto a character.

It reminds me of really bad fursonas or O.C.s where they try too hard to make them special.

As "International Herm Awareness Day" is now over pretty much everywhere (except Hawaii, perhaps) I would like to put forward today as "International Genjar Appreciation Day" for the above comment.

Tomorrow can always be "straight guys who get turned on by dickgirls really need to revisit the whole 'straight' thing" day ...

I get complaints whenever I draw characters with realistic proportions, so its not always the artists fault XD
But yeah, I can totally see that, and agree.

This guy has the right idea. Nothing against balls (except pig balls), I just think that herms look better without them (or should that be with internal balls...moot point on this site, I suppose).

I blame Bernard Doove.

No offense, but are there really that many insecure people here on e6? Just get off to what you like, blacklist what you don't, and be happy.

I like herms with the whole nine yards because it increases the number of mathematical possibilities and I like to think creatively.
That being said, I agree that the unrealistic size and exaggerated features are a turn off to me. I want it to be at least somewhat believable and the amplification and extremely overt sexuality of the pictures just isn't my thing. Not that I don't still get off to them...

I feel the same about rainbows used for distinctiveness, excluding some kind of gay pride context. In the past, I related herms, dickgirls, and rainbows with indecision or wishful thinking. Now, I'm too far gone to care about herms and, to a lesser extent, dickgirls, but I will still wage a secret war against rainbows in the confines of my brain.

I'm going to guess that Patchi thought the comment seemed to be a broad critical negative statement that didn't add much to the conversation, possibly looking like a bad bait attempt, which warranted a sarcastic sort of response. That's just my guess.

I'm not saying that it is or isn't any of these things, but I am actually curious what you actually meant by "ruin" and where this comes from. I guess I don't spend enough time around roleplaying sites to know what you mean.

Basically if you go to any roleplaying place you find like 5000 herms to every pure 1 male or female character. And whenever you try and get an RP going by going out and looking for males or females, you'll get a ton of herm players and some of them will bug you to see if you're interested, even if you make it quite clear you want to play with a normal gendered character.

Kinda this for me too. I don't think guys are gross though, I just prefer curves and less body hair.... But somehow fur is OK. Go figure.

Oh wow, didn't expect much of a response to this. Really, the only reason I brought this up is because I feel like there isn't enough art that caters to my interests. I was wondering if I was part of an under-represented minority or if I was really just alone lol.

It gets brought up a lot :P

Honestly, I think it boils down to people being tired of something that was a fad, and all of the artists/character owners that jumped on the bandwagon. There are well designed herms out there*, who can be drawn well and be interesting characters, but the majority are over the top and very "furry-sue".

* This opinion is biased.

I could be wrong, but I suspect most people imagine fur as freshly shampooed, soft as a teddy bear, and smelling fresh. While body hair is associated with sweatiness and musk (and poor hygiene if it's excessive, so things like body oder are associated concepts).

The disappointing thing is, I bet if furries were real: their body fur would sometimes get sweaty and matted, and hygiene would vary just like it does in people. And if they get caught in the rain, your wolf boyfriend would smell like wet dog. But even if it's clean, their fur would probably have a lot of guard hairs in it so it'd be rougher to the touch for most species. After all, most ferals aren't as soft as they look, so I doubt anthros would be any better off. And some might have to keep their fur trimmed if their genetic mix makes it grow unevenly or especially long. Or if their fur is especially prone to matting on them (especially where clothing rubs, like under waistbands. I imagine combing those areas out every day would get old fast so some might clip it shorter to make grooming simpler). Jewelry might sometimes get caught on their fur and tug it painfully, just like hairy guys wearing stretchy-band watches. Also, I think they'd have the equivalent of "hat hair" every time they undressed, with fur sticking in all directions from where it was all day under clothes. lol

So... I think the perceived differences between body hair and fur would diminish under the details of reality. I mean, I still think it would be awesome if anthros were in existence and be a little envious of their fur coats. Probably want to date at least one, if only for my bucket list and curiosity (too much fictional unknowns to be sure of anything else though). But I do think it would be a little different than it sometimes looks in the art. Maybe not quite as glamorous and well groomed. But idk. It's just what I imagine i all.

I imagine it would feel almost exactly like cuddling a dog. I've hugged a golden retriever, and that was fine. It felt a lot more smooth than human body hair seems to... But then again I was fully clothed too, so none of that dog hair was on sensitive skin *shrug*

If furries were real, I pray that, like canines, furries did not have sweat glands.

I also have never heard of it happening, but I think it would be really cool of they did. One of those little world building details. Might work better in fiction than it does in art though. Would still be cool regardless.

I guess most people just forget that part of reptilian biology when making their anthro character. To be honest, I'm surprised I haven't seen fetish porn of that, (not that I'm particularly interested) although I'm sure it exists.

Molting could be a neat plot point. It leaves the creature vulnerable for a while.
