Smart phones are also cellphones. Smart phones are almost never flip phones

The implication is that all flip phones are cellphones, not that cellphones are flip phones.

| smartphone |    | flip_phone |
      |                 |
      |                 |
      - -| cellphone |- -
               |
               |
               |
           | phone |

If you wanted to see specifically see smart phones you'd search for smartphone, while searching for cellphone would give results for smartphones, flip phones and any other kind of cellphone. Likewise the next level of the implication chain gets even more generic, phone should cover all cellphones plus additional kinds of phones like rotary phones.

We should probably have separate tags for other form factors of cellphones too, like (candy)bar phones and brick phones.

I'd put bag_phone and car_phone on that list, but 1) I'm not sure if there's any art here that has either of those things and 2) people that aren't familiar with optical discs over 12 cm diameter aren't going to know what those things are, either. :D

I've never heard of "bar phone" but it seems like that's the actual name for "those chunky, non-flip late 90s/2000s phones with screens and number pads" (makes for a better tag too XD). I haven't encountered too many, but it might just be that there are so many posts under cellphone -smartphone and I've only gone through a handful so far. I added brick_phone and bar_phone to the phone page

The bulk update request #4564 is active.

create implication bar_phone (158) -> cellphone (30644)
create implication looking_at_phone (2048) -> phone (47360)
create implication payphone (48) -> phone (47360)
create implication rotary_phone (156) -> phone (47360)
create implication wired_phone (72) -> phone (47360)
create implication landline_phone (899) -> phone (47360)

Reason: A few more.

So bar_phone and flip_phone are both clearly -> cellphones.

A payphone is a type of phone. If it's only a phone_booth without the phone visible, then we still have that separate tag.

While rotary, wired, and landline clearly overlap sometimes... looking at the images I see plenty that do not. Not all landlines are wired, not all wired are landlines, not all rotary are wired or landlines. So I figured to just implicate all three to -> phone.

Ones I did not include (yet):
cellphone and holding_phone already both imply -> phone. So those are done.

brick_phone is technically a mobile phone, but idk if it is useful to come up in cellphone searches. I don't think anyone expects that in there. So I'd rather imply it straight to -> phone instead. But is that going to bug people? So for now, I left it out.

These would need checked to make sure the phone is always visible enough to be tagged. I would not be surprised if it is sometimes implied instead of being clearly seen, and then we'd have to decide how much is enough for the phone tag to fit. So I left these ones out for now:
texting
text message
phone call
ringing phone
vibrating phone

I can see the phones not always being tagged, such as a phone ringing offscreen or a comic page in which a suddenly vibrating phone causes a bikerider to crash into a hedge (I saw that one, once). One could show texting by having the character holding the phone out of sight of the viewer but are obviously composing a text while a recognizable text box is at the top of the panel. Or one could show a series of texts as if screenshotted off the phone. Or they're using a tablet, a desktop, or a laptop to check their texts, if that's even possible.

Brick phone might as well fall under cellphone, they are cellphones after all, just very early versions of them. If a user posted an 80s themed image with a character on a brick phone, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't tag cellphone.

As for the other tags, I don't think they necessary should imply phone, I can think of a few scenarios where a phone wouldn't be visible while a character is texting or while on a phone call (they might be using a headset, doing a voice call through Discord or Skype, or on speakerphone)

Oh yea, my B. The flow chart flipped in my head, despite being two steps long, lmao

I'm not sure if the wired_phone tag needs to exist, are there any phones with cords that don't fall under landline or payphone? We'd be better off with a cordless phone tag for landline phones that don't have wires, and are clearly not cellphones.
