Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: behemothking -> mothyking

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #61977 behemothking -> mothyking has been approved.

Reason: I ditched Behemoth for the monicker Mothy sometime ago on Twitter which is my main gig, kind of?
I'd like to be known as MothyKing over BehemothKing because you can just short it to Mothy and it's cute and more memorable

EDIT: The tag alias behemothking -> mothyking (forum #362655) has been approved by @gattonero2001.

This checks out. While I know that the artist requested this alias (;p), an independent check of the BehemothKing FA reveals it mirrors pictures seen on the "MothyKing Twitter",:https://twitter.com/MothyKing even though it still links to the now defunct BMothKing Twitter (an example page with both names). Further, both the FA (in the artist blurb up top at the "buy me a coffee (please)") and the current Twitter link to the MothyKing Ko-fi.

BehemothKing, would you like your e621 account verified? You get that nifty little checkmark by your artist tag on pictures you personally upload to e621making it easier for approvers to quickly approve them.

FYI you can change your name on this site as well.

As for the alias, this is a bit of an outside possibility, but what would happen if another artist took up the name "behemothking"? Unlike some usernames, seeing as it's just two English words, it's not one that someone couldn't end up using at some time in the future, is an alias more appropriate than a mass update, removing the description (or redirecting to mothyking) and changing the tag type back to general?

It's certainly possible. However, personally, I'd suggest the alias is better in the short term until everyone is used to the name change. If another Behemoth King pops up sometime in the future, it wouldn't be hard to unalias it for this hypothetical other artist to use as, by then, users would no longer be associating MothyKing's old name with them. All that would need to be done is for someone to ask.

Of course, this other Behemoth King is still hypothetical. They could just as easily never exist.

That's fair, I've seen a lot of artist name aliasing, and it's been in the back of my mind for a while — "what if someone else picks this name?"
