I totally agree! What is the difference between slightly_chubby and cubby? What defines slightly_chubby_gender different from chubby_gender? That has been confusing me for a long time, and I don't know which tag is proper!

Seems like it should be 2 separate tags

chubby is already aliased to slightly_chubby, I could have sworn that the same was true for all of the chubby_<gender/form> tags, but nope. there's a BUR with pretty overwhelming support that's been knocking around for over a year and just hasn't been approved yet for some reason.
