Reason: I am surprised that these tags have no involvement even with dreamworks

puss_in_boots_(dreamworks) shouldn't imply puss_in_boots_the_last_wish since he doesn't originate from there, he originates from the Shrek series. also puss_in_boots_(film) is the tag for the first movie, so I'm not sure should be implied by puss_in_boots_the_last_wish.

Edit: also Kitty Softpaws originated from the first movie.

Updated

Is this going to be a recurring problem; standalone movies turning into a series and suddenly the tag for the standalone movie is being used as a franchise tag instead? A search of puss_in_boots_(film) plus characters only seen in The Last Wish results in 30 default pages and that's without implications in place.
Does the original film need a new, separate tag, and then we turn the old tag into a... sub-franchise? tag? Is there enough content exclusive to the first film to warrant a precise tag for it? Do we want to have to rewire all the tagging relations every time a character from one movie appears elsewhere?

Is it correct to imply characters onto a single iteration of media, instead of the broader tag for the franchise-universe they're from? Gluing character implications onto the only thing they're in seems like it's asking for problems whenever that stops being true. I mean we don't imply star_fox_adventures from krystal.

Come to think of it, didn't a similar problem happen with Undertale, too, when Deltarune released? It might not be a problem for franchises that were well underway before e621 sprang up, but I think it needs to be kept in mind for anything that simply isn't a franchise yet. Tags for single-instalments might be a bad idea altogether; It may be better to treat one-off media tags as potential-IP-'verse tags or else we're dealing with this every time something furries care about gets a sequel.

generally we should really only use separate per-entry tags when character designs/outfits are unique to that one entry/subseries (see: the_murder_of_sonic_the_hedgehog), the subseries is seperated enough from it's originator that it has it's own identity (see: mario_bros., donkey_kong_(series)), or the franchise is more of an anthology than a cohisive series (see: undertale, deltarune, I guess (?))
but then again we aliased away all of the splatoon tags, so... :/

in this case I'd probably say that a single copytag would be fine for all of the Puss in Boots movies, but I'm not sure if they're still close enough to the Shrek series to warrant a puss_in_boots_(films) -> shrek_(series) implication.
