Topic: Forgot the name of an anatomical part on deer and horse tails

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I keep seeing this piece of anatomy at the base of equine tails and deer tails and whatnot that I know there's a specific name with a tag for it but hardly anyone tags it, probably because they don't know about it or don't remember it.
This time I'm going to put the name of the part in a note containing tags I keep forgetting, but for now, does anyone remember what the bit at the base of the tail above the anus is called?

A few images I grabbed that, I think, show it.

#3744850, the top-right image, especially has it.

And not to be confused for all those other docks (the "platform extending from a shore over water" is what I most associate the word with; "The solid or fleshy part of an animal's tail" seems to be a lesser known use of the term).

dock -equid -mlp seems to have quite a few mistags... should dock be disambiguated? I think maybe it should

I'd say yes. Have dock_(anatomy) for the tail thing (and maybe implicate tail?), and pier for the platform extending from shore over water, makes the most sense to me.

Should dock be aliased to dock_(anatomy) or dock_(disambiguation)?

Given a not-insignificant number of mistags of dock, I think dock_(disambiguation) would be better.

Done
(well, added to "part 2" since I can't add it to the BUR due to transitives)

It's called a dock.

Hell, I was gonna say. I was trying to remember it. Yeah, a 'dock'. I had almost forgotten it entirely.

Approximately how long do most bulk update requests take to go through? I've been checking it ever since the first part was submitted.
I do rather agree, that dock should better specify anatomy. And that the original tag should be clarified to be generalized, I have no problems with either part so I'm just wondering what's taking so long for seemingly anything to happen with part one.

Further question, if any creature has a fleshy section on the bottom of their tail connected to their body, would we call it a dock?
Example post #1844778

dock as it stands has been well-maintained and kept pretty clear of things other than dock_(anatomy). Would it not make sense to mass update dock -> dock_(anatomy) before the alias goes through to avoid having to retag thousands of posts where the work has already been done?
