Topic: One of my eye has a problem

Posted under Off Topic

I dunno if this is serious enough for a visit to an ophthalmologist, but one of my eyes has a slightly blurry eyesight. I see no difference when both eyes are open and sometimes that same eye can see fine, so maybe it's temporary?
Im not asking for medical advice, only whether I should see a specialist or not given that costs money.

I’d suggest you first look up on the internet what you’re exactly experiencing right now before taking any actions. You should find several (medical) websites that could explain your condition and whether you need to contact a specialist or physician.

It worths to see the expert. Could be something not so bad and temporary? It is possible, as I told you, nowadays we abuse much our eyes with computer screens and cell phones, for hours a day. There are some exercises that you could make with your eyes, so the muscles of focusing do not get feeble or degenerate, for example.

Months ago there was a thread about the problems of eyes. Some people could have high blood pressure and not even know it. Or high levels of glucose. Only an ophthalmologist with experience that check your eyes with various types of ophthalmoscopes, check intra-eye pressure, etc... will give you a good answer. It worths it, because many parts of the eye, especially the retina (that you could consider part of the CNS), do not regenerate.

Some of the symptoms that should make you RUN to the doctor, is for example to begin to see "lights" when you move your eyes at night (photopsias), that means that there is a mechanical stimulation of the nerves cells, a sign that your retina is damaged, maybe in danger of falling of place.

As Kora Viridian says below: You better go to the doctor.

In all likelihood, you have unequal vision. One eye can focus better than the other. The eyes' ability to focus changes as we age, sometimes getting worse or better independently of the other eye. After 11 years, my eyes reversed which was "weak" and "strong." This is why people should get their vision tested and potentially their glasses prescription checked regularly.

I would not be able to visit an ophthalmologist because one eye has "slightly blurry eyesight" lol. Their time is valuable and my area is seemingly underserved. Superficial keratectomy (minor surgery) to treat my chronic, debilitating corneal abrasions? Yeah. Usually, a person would go to an optometrist first for a diagnosis and treatment and then get referred to an ophthalmologist specializing in the problem's assumed field, if needed. If a person knows what their problem is (e.g., they know it's cataracts), then they might skip directly to the ophthalmologist.

Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in? That didn't work for me either so I had to get both of them replaced. 10/10 would recommend PRK

If it's just one eye and it's blurry. Scratch your eye or rinse it with water, see if it goes away.

If it pursists for more than a few days, seek medical attention because there may be something wrong...obviously.

If you're seeing floaters, you should definetly see medical help from an Optomologist.

I had eye problems and I ignored it thinking it'd go away.
Next thing I knew, half my vision looked like a broken TV screen seen through a hazy glass bottle.
Had to get 2 surgeries after that.

Bursted blood vessels and a detatched retna. Didn't hurt, but it was a inconvienence.

scratch that, just go to a doctor WHY are you asking strangers on the internet? Also, "cost money"? Don't you have a healthcare plan?

I know you are asking in a thread to stall and have more peace in your mind but if you have time and money the best answer is always go to the doctor.

Like what Closet said, ok wash your eyes and etc, if it persist time to talk to a optomologist.
