Topic: What's a good furry movie you recently watched?

Posted under General

For me it has to be the Spanish animated film Unicorn Wars (2022.) Watched it on YouTube since some channel decided to upload it for free and acted fast before it got taken down. Ended up liking it a lot and bought the DVD to support the makers. Basically, it's a war between teddy bear soldiers and unicorns (that's kinda furry.) Sounds innocent, but is loaded with gore and they show a few teddy bear dicks. Glad to see some artists here that make fan art.

Another edit: BirdBoy and The Forgotten Children is also by the same creator and while not as good, I still liked it.

Zootopia will always be one of the best movies engraved into the furry fandom to date.
You make a movie that's depicting reality but turn it all into animals and make a hot ass shortstack bunny & a swauve morally & ethically questionable hustler your protag
you got yourself a fucking masterpiece

and not only that but expanding the world allows the creation of numerous OCs that can be headcanon with nobody to really say otherwise within its established universe.
You really cannot top the creation of ZOOTOPIA.

but if we talk about SHOWS THEN BEASTARS is your runner up.

I've heard that they're working on a second movie. If that's true, then that's something to be pumped about. I rarely go to movie theaters, but I'd go to watch that. If I see any people there who aren't kids, I'm just gonna assume that they're furries.

went into this thread to recommend exactly that

People went crazy over Death and I can see that. He definitely has all the sexy points, but Jack Horner has all the sigma male points.

Really this "Unicorn Wars" looks good...

What's a good furry movie you recently watched?

That puts me in a trouble / conflict.... I want so much to talk about animation... but recently, I have not seen a furry movie that really "moves" me. I know that recently there has been some movies (e.g. Paws of Fury), that look good given their budget... but I believe that if an animated move nowadays does not have a very big budget (> 80 M), it is difficult to me even to consider ... the most recent things that I could remember right now (besides "Puss in Boots", that was VERY good), are "Storks" and "Rio"... but of course, those cannot be considered "recent". And then, another two dozen of animations that I will be EAGER to discuss... but that will be outside the scope of your topic.

Oddly enough, and contradicting a bit with what I said above, is this Furry animation on YouTube, done with a budget of peanuts, from some Russian guys...

That is another dimension that I want to explore (really a Universe by itself), of indie and similar animations (many of them Furry), that are available in YouTube and other platforms.

I thought the big bad fox (and other tales) was a good collection of short films.

I've never heard of it until now. I like the art style. Also, you and Xappol-Dreamberry have really similar profile pictures.

Robin hood is a masterpiece

Some modernity is good. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Unicorn Wars are top tier.
Also, other classics that I think every furry should watch are Fritz the Cat [redacted]
as well as
Felidae
Secret of Nimh
Watership Down

I rewatched Balto recently, and it's still possibly the best furry movie as far as I'm concerned. I mean, it doesn't have a deep plot, but the art syle is pretty, and that's sort of all that matters. The movie is pure art. The only other time I watched it was over a decade ago when someone posted it to YouTube and I managed to watch it in the short window before it got taken down. This time I watched it on YouTube legally with the magic of money.

post #41501 <- screencap of the opening scene (ignoring the pointless live action bit). Clearly, they knew how to quickly grab a furry audience's attention, lol. (This was posted before this site's post quality standards/rules were enforced, of course.)

Always heard of it, but never gotten around to see it. Guess I'll do that while it's still summer. Also, off topic, but how did you add that image to your reply? I can't figure it out. I'm still new to the forums section.

Turning Red by Pixar I saw just two days ago. The movie is about a red panda who uses her power to exploit children out of money. Furry Nights is a terrible horror suspense about murderous furries in a forest. I would recommend my first option.

"お前うまそうたな" the hood classic. Sometimes just fully re uploaded on youtube subbed too...
Man i wish this movie got dubbed. Even fan dubbed like the animal crossing movies...

That looks cute, I'll look into it. Might as well recommend you one as well. Arashi No Yoru Ni is also a great movie about a goat and wolf. Someone managed to make an English dub on YouTube. Hopefully it's still there.

A lot of people hate on Turning Red, but it's great. Also, I'm a big fan of terrible horror movies. For instance, The Ice Cream Man, Willy's Wonderland, and the Bunnyman movies. I checked out some pictures of Furry Nights and it has caught my interest. Sometimes something is so bad that it's good.

Edit: Watched it and enjoyed it. Hilarious.

Yep, it definitely worth watching!

To add a thumbnail of a post (needs to already be on this site), it's thumb #<post number>, so in my case I typed thumb #41501. Cheatsheet: https://e621.net/help/dtext

Usually, screencaps would not be allowed on this site, but that screencap was posted early in this sites history, when such rule enforcement was generally lax/ignored.

Great! Thanks a ton! Time to go crazy with this new knowledge. 😎

You make it sound like you're familiar with it already. Hopefully it's still on YouTube.

Also, other classics that I think every furry should watch are Fritz the Cat available here for free [redacted]

Fritz the Cat tried to capture the cultural ambiance of the 60s... racial riots, civil rights movements, sexual liberation, psychodelia, "revolutionary" and "anti-capitalist" spirit in the Universities.... however, it failed in showing something that they did not saw then, and nobody cared.... the economic expansion in all the Western World, and the growth of the middle classes as never before. Nobody counts the positive, because we assume that the positive and "progress", is the norm, natural, and never ending. But that's wrong.

Felidae

Costed just 10 Million Deutsche Mark (when they still existed). Good animation for a so limited budget, I guess. Very explicit cat sex, cat GOOOORE. I love the German version, with Ulrich Tukur in the role of "Francis", and Klaus-Maria Brandauer as "Pascal".

Secret of Nimh

What can I say... it is my favorite traditional animation film. Every year, I see it at least once.

Watership Down

Very good... but still I like more the "sister" film that came from that British studio soon after it.... "the Plague Dogs".

Same artist drew them.

Another good furry movie I could recommend is Isle of Dogs. Wonderful stop motion film.

Louis Wain is quite possibly in the top 5 artists of his time

Hell, ya don't have to wait. I hear Disney+ Has Zootopia+ which continues the daily life of some of the Zootopia characters...I haven't seen it yet myself but I'm gonna. All in wwait for Zootopia 2. I wonder what BIG CRIME they'll tackle next. I bet it'll have more politics. Or maybe they'll go after a terror group.

Sadly zoot+ is just 6 shorts that total runtime amounts to less than the runtime of an episode of doctor who (ie its short) and most of them just feel like sour humour.

Its really depressing and I hope zoot2 isnt a repeat of that

Its from a ttrpg ive been working on for five or so years, i originally was gonna keep the old meme image i had but the kokeshi just had such a raw energy i changed to it for now lmao

On topic tho, im most worried bc, considering the clownfiesta that frozen 2 was in development I am really worried for what a sequel might even be about

Don't worry, bro. It's just a movie, it won't hurt you :) It's not THAT gory, and there's just a few sex scenes.
