I have no objections to this one in particular, but where do we draw the line on what is or isn't politics?
Pretty much anything could be regarded as a "political event"

Good question but since this one is a politician's assassination, I feel pretty confident that it's political regardless haha
The oxford dictionary definitions of political are "relating to the government or the public affairs of a country" and "relating to the ideas or strategies of a particular party or group in politics" and the definitions of politics are "the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power" and "the activities of governments concerning the political relations between countries." So I guess if it has to do with governments, that makes it political.
With that in mind, IMO wars, politicians and political parties, and discourse about new bills/laws are politics. LGBT pride in general (except for things referencing political attacks on the community and perhaps for references to marriage equality being passed), the oceangate implosion, and the covid pandemic (except for things referencing government response to it) are not politics.

Imagine if there's people drawing furry parodies of Oliver Lee's movie in 2023.
