Topic: Musician Furs?

With A=415, do you mean detuning all the notes accordingly?
because if you do that, the music is just played lower, it doesn't exactly change it. right?
Most of the time I sample something for my music, I detune it by two notes because it makes it sound warmer and nicer. (or i adjust the pitch just to be in the same key as the rest of the song)
im not familiar with "A=415hz music" just with the tuning. what exactly sucks about it?

well, it sounds lower, yes, but idk for me its.. bad :\ unacceptable, and it also messes me up while tuning :-: (and what you do is transposing not detunig :p)

I didn't learn music theory in english, so i don't know all the English terminology.
Hell, I barely know them in my own language. i make weird electronic music so i don't have to care about theory :D

Only A-415? so you're ok with other alternate tunings? like 410 430 etc?

In that case, you must really hate historical performance people :<

I play guitar and bass and I always tune to 432Hz. Same with my synthesizers.

well I mean, wind instruments can be detuned, just pull your tuning slide/mouthpiece/neck-headjoint out

I don't really play, but I love the sound of those old flat oboes, and ESPECIALLY those tiny portable organs people use to play baroque chamber music. Such a pretty sound <3

I'm a drummer!!

drummer?! me a big drummer slut plz let me duet u sometime

I wouldent really call myself a fur, and i wouldent really call myself a musician either even though i've dabbled in music production for 10 years, i rather see myself as a producer given that i do everything inside a vst plugin in a daw, and that i had zero music theory or training of any kind going into it.

A musician to me is a person that play a "real instrument" like a guitar, flute, piano etc, where those that do it electronically are producers. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

i wanna have music furs to talk with ;-; (btw A=415hz SUCKS!)

you just feel like this bc ur used to ur instrument timbre being on a440, but if someone give you an instrument that all keys/strings are detuned at the same amount, you woudnt notice.

i just don't believe that saying "that timbre sucks" is something that makes sense

i know, i did it for the comedy :-:

I do musician stuff!! :D I play piano very very often, especially late into the night. Mostly I'll be studying scales
and doing the regular exercises. I enjoy improvising on my own alot, that and classical music on the piano. Recently I finished memorizing Chopin's Waltz in a minor b.150. The furst piece I learned was To Zanarkand from FFX. Love for the video game music as well.

I completely disagree. 415 hz is awesome...well at least for the Baroque period, and even today, I believe all Baroque music should be played almost always in 415 Hz, aka Baroque tuning.

Also Hello from a fellow professional musician/orchestrator.

It is a beautiful waltz without a doubt :)
E major is probably my favorite, I do love playing around with E major alot. My hands seem to naturally go to them

I'm not sure if this is just a "me-having-perfect-pitch" thing, but Db major is my favorite scale. Db major has a vibe to it that not even the keys adjacent to it (Gb/Ab) hit the same

Perfect pitch? I have advanced relative pitch that can pass as perfect pitch haha

i prefer it a semitone lower, but e maj is still beautiful

Db is okiedokie, just that 5 flats is way too complicated to sightread

so if i played any note 10 times, you woud guess like 8 or 9?

There used to be "filking" jams where furries would get together and jam to tunes they knew how to play but they'd replace the words with furry-related lyrics.

My experience is that these days furries who are musicians tend to keep the two in separate boxes more than make and perform furry music.

They are furries, but they are also musicians. They play music at conventions, but the music is serious, non-furry related music and when they're playing they are musical artists. Then when they are done, they're furries.

I definitely fall into the latter category; it doesn't help that I haven't told anyone about me being a fur yet lol; I look forward to combining the two interests sometime in the future, though.
