Topic: Tag Implication: bedroom_eyes -> half-closed_eyes

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

This was last discussed on forum #129605, though seems like it got overlooked by most users.

I... think this might work. Doesn't seem possible to pull off that look without party closed eyes. In rare instances, it gets tagged for posts such as:

But I believe that those would fit better under wink than bedroom_eyes.

Technically speaking, 1 fully closed eye + 1 fully open eye = 2 half-closed eyes if you average them out. ;)

Yeah I definitely wouldn't tag that with bedroom eyes though.

Interesting. Guess that tag is more restricted than I've been assuming.

bedroom_eyes is a tag I never use as it's use has always seemed to broad and vague to me. I prefer to use half-closed_eyes, etc instead.

Yes, but for those who do use it, might as well lump it together with half-closed_eyes. I noticed that most all of the things that get tagged bedroom_eyes don't get the half-closed_eyes tag. I am certainly not going to go through all the pictures and tag both. But given that it is redundant, we should just alias it to half-closed_eyes. That way everyone can be happy and we can be rid of the redundancy.

Meh.. So, is this thing dead cause this seems to be the second time it has been brought up, and no one has seemed to care. I guess bedroom_eyes is too broad a tag to be generalized as a half-closed_eyes..
So we can't alias it. (even if it is a slim amount that aren't half-closed_eyes) So, I guess I am going on a tagging adventure if we aren't going to alias it.

It's only been a day, generally things like this go for a week or more before a decision is finally made to give a chance for everyone to speak up.

Also, I know you could mean that you just want to add the half-closed_eyes tag to ones that are missing it, but it's worth mentioning that I would advise against bulk removing the bedroom_eyes tag and replacing with half-closed_eyes if that's what you intend to do, which would be considered tag vandalism.

Either way, I'd recommend waiting because the implication (or possibly an alias) may still go through. It would save you from having to spend tens of hours tagging them manually (with the hourly tag restriction) just to have the server finish the other half of the tags in less than 2 minutes.

Oh no! I'd never flip flop the tags. Plus, that'd take to long. Both are valid. It's just, not all of the bedroom_eyes tagged posts have the half-closed_eyes tag, when clearly most all of them have half-closed_eyes. As I stated at the beginning.

The bedroom_eyes(2026) tag is pretty much 99.9% half-closed_eyes(8150).

^Which is why I originally requested for an implication. But, you are correct. I should be more patience, instead of going on a needless tagging spree. Sorry, I am new to this.

Approved.

I'm surprised it works, but it seems to. There is occasionally a post tagged bedroom_eyes that doesn't have half-closed_eyes but in all of those cases it would have been better off tagged with something like wink or seductive etc. And that seems to be rare in any case.
