Topic: Help cleaning up tags for Egg Laying and Egg Insertion?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I know egg-laying related tags may be a small issue, with only a few thousand works, but it's important to me. Also, please forgive my lack of html ability!

I was super-happy to see on the wiki that the tag "egg_in_ass" has been deemed the in-use tag over the older "anal_oviposition"! Specifically because it is harder to spell, and does not specify if the egg is going in or out. I like this formulation a lot! Blacklisting is much easier now!

However, there are still about 280 works using the defunct tag, and I'd like some help to go and edit each out of date entry individually. I can't do all that work alone!
There are similar defunct tags being used like "oral_oviposition" and "urethral_oviposition" which have egg_in/from_(blank) variants that are more specific and preferred.

I was part of getting these specifics detailed, which I really appreciate for blacklist reasons. I want to see "egg_in_ass" content, but I want to blacklist "egg_in_mouth" content. So you see my dilemma here. I can't do this work for very long, it makes me nauseous to purposefully study works with these squicks of mine. If anyone can help editing the individual tags of individual images - probably those who already enjoy egg-related kinks - I'd be very grateful! :)

P.S. And while we're at it, could I get some help with editing the tags that say egg is going in, when clearly context clues say it is coming out, or vice-versa? Example https://e621.net/posts/4141966 where egg is clearly coming out due to the flying butt plug behind her. Very common irritant. But less important than the above ask.

Any reason we haven't just aliased away the *_ovipostion tags, if we're using egg_from_* now instead?
Also reading the wikis, it looks like egg_in is for insertion, and egg_from is for oviposition. That doesn't work well with the other *_in_* tags.

No idea. I would suggest it, but I'm not that good at HTML and how the site works on the back end myself. Also, the sheer detail found on the wiki for "Oviposition" specifically, how it lists the defunct tags as go-to's, and the newer tags only at the very bottom, may have to be addressed as well.

The egg_in* tags currently imply egg_insertion, so if an egg_in* tag is used then that post must feature egg insertion. The problem is that *_in_* is and will continue to be interpreted as "inside" (stateful) when in this case "into" (direction) is intended.

So in this specific case, the egg_in* tags should be aliased to egg_into* to help avoid confusion. I've seen that taggers are generally unaware of implications, particularly if a tag implies another tag then ALL implied tags must also be true (or the tag scheme uses bad logic).

I agree with the logic there, "egg_into*" seems like a good alias to request. I'm sorry that I don't know how to do it myself.
