Topic: Tag alias: tweetfur -> twitter_bird

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #63521 tweetfur -> twitter_bird is pending approval.

Reason: These describe the same character, an anthropomorphised version of Twitter's iconic emblem, but "tweetfur" is less descriptive name that refers to a brief, specific trend, whereas "twitter bird" is a more accurate description for the phenomenon.
At the very least, there's no need for both.

Other way around. Community names for unnamed characters (Derpy, Dr Whoves) have traditionally been accepted.

I agree that the community has been naming characters and been more accepted
If ask me i think twitter_bird could(i'm saying could and not should) be aliased to tweetfur if anything
Twitter_bird is just saying "that bird from twitter" thus being twitter_bird
Tweetfur is more alike a name for the bird
Its a community name but if they dont gave an official name to the bird than a community name would be more accepted

then gothfield must be a copyright tag since it's a meme anthromorphized of garfield just like tweetfur is anthromorphized version of twitter
it's a meme either way doesnt it?
both are memes and so by your means i'm right about it :kek:

Tweetfur is a hashtag, not a name, folks still refer to the twitter bird as the twitter bird eeven in this feminized state, that makes it a meme. Other examples like gothfield and bowsette are different stories because those are actual names and not trends/hashtags, but not long ago folks were arguing on e6 that bowsette must be copyright also, take it however you feel.

The twitter bird's name is larry if we wanna go by official canon. They stopped using the name, but that was the bird's name originally

Gothfield also was a hashtag when it go popularized so then i should make an BUR for gothfield to be a copyright and also the only people nowdays using tweetfur as a hashtag is for people who use hashtags and think that its going to bring more attraction to their tweets

And also no the tweetfur isn't a feminized state, it's the anthrophormization(wow big word) of twitter logo because the actual meme was that if they made the bird anthro they would get banned, that was the context for when it was created

do you have a source for that please, if there is a source then i could debate and actually make the twitter_bird be aliased to larry_(twitter) instead
if we are going to the right path then larry is going to be the official official name
no more twitter_bird tag
no more tweetfur, screw the people for that
there will be only larry_(twitter)

even if it was "stopped" it is the official name nonetheless and should be the current name for it
if you disagree with this you are basically disagreeing with yourself just like people would disagree if i were to make an actual forum post for aliasing both tags to larry_(twitter)

me when i can't just get that link in the same reply lol

still either way then i should make "The Furry Memes BUR" to update the memes to be copyright since that's what you are wanting

Sure.

I know what anthrofied and feminized mean and basede on the posts that were made I reckon I did use the right word.
tweetfur male - 2 pages only
tweetfur male solo - only 1 page and possible mistagging as some of these could go for gynomorph.
tweetfur female - 7 pages

do you have a source for that please, if there is a source then i could debate and actually make the twitter_bird be aliased to larry_(twitter) instead
if we are going to the right path then larry is going to be the official official name
no more twitter_bird tag

you could have looked it up, there are pages of news articles calling the twitter bird larry, but there you go https://www.brandcrowd.com/blog/what-is-the-name-of-the-bird-from-the-twitter-logo/

even if it was "stopped" it is the official name nonetheless and should be the current name for it

tweetfur is a meme, though. Aliasing it to larry_(twitter) would make as much sense as aliasing moushley to ashley_graham, gothfield to garfield or bowsette to bowser

me when i can't just get that link in the same reply lol

still either way then i should make "The Furry Memes BUR" to update the memes to be copyright since that's what you are wanting

Not just me, plenty of folk would prefer that. Stop making this about me.

Only downvoting because Tweetfur is a unique anthro version of the Twitter Bird, like other unique takes on the Twitter Bird should be under Twitter Bird but as said above Tweetfur is a unique version like something like what happened with Gothfield being a unique version of Garfield

Tweetfur is a specific type of Twitter bird, I would make it implicate Twitter bird instead of an alias.

Why did you upvote this BUR if you have a problem with meme names being in the copyright category rather than the character category?

trying to "Gotcha" me?
It has _(meme) in front of it, that's why I agreed.
Cause I agreed with it.
I don't agree with this.

You should have looked carefully here
So you may have misunderstood.

There is no recategorising on that post. The poster intended to alias the tag to kill it entirely.
This is what the poster here did also, but you downvoted my proposal to categorise the tag into a copyright tag.

closetpossum said:
yeah no, still a name. That's all I will say now.
Already got my vote locked in.

Then why did you upvote the Mushley bur? It is a name too?

I dont understand you.
