Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: word360 -> drow462

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #63582 word360 -> drow462 has been approved.

Reason:The vast majority of my art was made under this alias offsite (Twitter and FA respectively), but I made the ‘word360’ tag before I had made the new one. I just wanted to change my tag here to reflect that.

Note: I had accidentally made a "drow462" tag on here a while back, so is a name switch is possible?

EDIT: The tag alias word360 -> drow462 (forum #373178) has been approved by @slyroon.

Keep in mind that this alias won't change the tag on any existing posts here that are currently tagged word360. After this alias is accepted, if anyone edits one of the existing posts tagged word360, this alias will cause the artist tag to be updated to drow462 when that edit is saved. In other words, the posts will get updated over time. Also, if anyone tries to upload a new post and tag it word360, the alias will automatically change that tag to drow462 on the new post.

If you want all the existing posts that are tagged word360 to be updated to drow462 all at once, then reject this alias by clicking the link here , and file a new BUR with this script:

mass update word360 -> drow462

That is wrong. An alias immediately updates all posts, no need for a mass update. It doesn't show in tag history until someone updates the post, but the tags do get changed immediately. A mass update is solely for the case where you want a change without an alias.

If you update instead of aliasing, the tags do get changed, but new posts with the old tag don't get corrected, and searches/blacklists with the old tag fail.

Oh, thank goodness. That was something I was worried about going into making this request, since I do have a number of tagged characters attached to my older name.
