Should it even be considered a valid tag? It's name can be interpreted in three ways that are quite different from each other:

Wiki picks the third one, but it seems kind of arbitrary.

- clothes that transform/morph into different version of themselves
- clothes that transform wearer's body
- character being transformed into a piece of clothing

There are many instances where something happens like in the first post. It would be better to find another tag to substitute that one with, there are plenty of toony tomfooleries and weirdness that goes untagged or tagged incorrectly because there is no tag to describe them.
The second post is a little harder to argue with since all the transformation tags are explicitly for characters that were one thing and then turn into something else. This would fit ironically.

Yeah the transformation family tags are kinda a hot mess right now. This goes for most of them unfortunately.

Yeah. It'd take a lot of work, but it needs to be done eventually. Every transformation involves a starting form, and ending form, and a trigger, but we use *_transformation for all of them. Getting so specific when tag names need to be so short would almost require that we invent new terminology.
I've made a thread about this before. I'm sure other people have made threads as well.
