While I admittedly haven’t played them, the Splatoon games all seem pretty similar. I don’t see a particular need to have individual tags for each of the games.

most of the characters have unique designs for each title, as well as the aesthetic being slightly different.

I think having tags for each of the games would make searching for different versions of the characters a bit easier.

We don't really tag characters differently for different outfits. Especially since they can be drawn in outfits and styles that aren't from any of the games, or are a mix of different games and custom stuff.
